You have to assume all the talk this year will be for teams relevant to the playoffs, everyone not in that conversation is only going to get attention when they play someone who is in the conversation.
by week 10 all the national conversation will be on ~10 teams and if they can beat whoever they are playing that week.

Agree. Would be awesome if the playoff selections go so bad that people actually want the BCS back.
