Alabama won the championship. SEC didn't do dick. You think you have any claim as an SEC fan? This always makes me laugh. It's past the days where LSU would cheer "SEC, SEC, SEC". This is all Bama. It's their dynasty.

I understand what you're saying, but the strength of the SEC (obviously not speaking for myself) had something to do with putting Bama in the position to be in the game over other 1 loss teams. And that goes for other teams that have won the NC in the past. I don't think it's dickriding at all to root for an SEC team. You think I wanted fricking notre Dame to win a national title? Or Oregon? Or Kansas st?? No way.

Barrett Jones is an Alabama legend. Plain and simple. He laid it all on the line tonight, torn ligaments and you couldn't drag him off the field. Up 3 touchdowns playing like its a tie. We'll miss you Barrett

Someone who gets it.

The strength of the conference as a whole forces each school to constantly push harder for excellence. Much harder than other conferences. Let up or blink and you're out. This necessity for excellence day in and day out in the SEC is what helps allow Bama or Auburn or Florida or LSU to win national title after national title. Helps being the key word. Obviously, the players and coaches of those teams are special and deserve the lion's share of the credit. Beyond that, what's good for the conference is good for Auburn, MU or UT. Being seen as overrated is not good for the conference and not good for Auburn, MU or UT. So no, no one said the SEC won the national title. But the SEC also isn't overrated and not only did Bama show that, but A&M and Ole Miss and UGA and USC and Vandy.

Mizzou is part of why people think the SEC could be overrated.

That's what it's all about.

With Bamas win, the entire chain was strengthened.

The weak links become stronger.

I guarantee you that Auburn will get better before Missouri's football team even knows what success is.
