Bama is now using Ole Miss to justify their basketball NBA player. Apples to oranges.

If something so egregious happened, could the NCAA dole out another death penalty?

frick no. At this point, the NCAA is hanging by a thread. They'd sooner get on their knees and suck Greg Sankey's dick than even attempt to put an SEC school on probation.

I'm not trying to justify anything. College sports and the NCAA is a fricking clown show at this point.

So they meet through agents and representation and visits are conducted by the Grove Collective. Show causes only do anything for Pete and whoever would want to hire him should he lose his employment at Ole Miss while the show cause is in force. It does nothing to Ole Miss as an institution. My point is there’s a way around every enforcement mechanism the NCAA possesses.

The Supreme Court has basically said that the NCAA is subject to antitrust laws just like everyone else.

Seems the only eventual recourse to create enforceable rules is to make athletes employees and agree to those rules by collective bargaining.

I'm not much of an expert on this subject, but it seems like there are no NCAA rules that can't be broken at this point since the NCAA has no ability to enforce any punishments.
All you have to do is go to a local alumni judge, and you're good to do whatever the hell you want.

They are going about this the wrong way. Tell them the player can play but the result will not count as a win. Court does not control what is a win or loss. No program will risk that.

I think they schedule the officals or something...honestly no clue what they do. I know they set locations for arenas during the male and female tourneys.
