I'm going to give you Mizzou people a little bit of advice. Just start embracing your Midwest border. Start embracing that you're the most Midwest SEC team. You are. The cajuns are different than the rest of Dixie. So are the Cubans in Florida, the coal country bumpkins in the southern appalachians, the fats and lolpoors in Mississippi, and the tobacco row wannabees in SC. You're still in the Ozarks, which is just as beautiful as the rest of SEC country, and I bet the trailer trash in those hills could give any region a run for their money.
For that matter, A&M is just as much of a cultural outlier as you Midwestern Mizzou folks. The East Texas element in our former student base is the most similar to Dixie, but not that much. Our military tradition, bbq made of beef, dominant state pride, Dallas/Houston/San Antonio folks, west Texas folks, the hippies in Austin, the cultural mix with Mexico(Hispanics will be the majority in less than a decade and the food is unreal), makes us quite unique.
I'll put it this way, Mizzou is probably more similar to Arkansas than A&M is to any other school in the SEC, and I couldn't be happier about that. We don't have the ****ry of Greek life, we value education, we haven't been good at football in a very long time, we are bathing in oil money, and are just plain awesome.

^^^Well said, TeLeFaWx. We are the most Midwestern SEC team. It is what it is. Missouri born and bred, and tired of people trying to "convince" ranters that we belong and are a "cultural fit". Bull shite, we in the league now. Kiss our Mid-western Mid-nothern Mid-southern arse.

Arkansas should never have been admitted to the SEC. Neither should have South Carolina. I liked it just fine the way it was prior the SEC Championship game. Regular season winner goes to the Sugar Bowl.
