Does anyone else think the UT/Bama rivalry feels forced?

It's like Red River Shootout levels of pretend hatred. You can tell both fanbases love the pageantry, the idea of the rivalry, but the emotion and hate isn't there. I find the whole act to be really plastic.

Who honestly cares what you think?

been saying this for years
no one outside of the SEC even knows it's a "rivalry"
it's pathetic

I'm not a Bama fan but even I know this is ridiculous.
Maybe for the younger guys it's not a big deal but I grew up knowing it was usually their biggest game on the schedule.
The only fake rivalry is the Iron Bowl.

Tenn - Florida
Tenn - UGA
Bama - LSU
Are all more interesting to me.

The only thing I have against the iron bowl is how everyone is trying to make it seem like it has always been this huge nationally relevant game when that wasn't the case until 2010

I'm pushing 30, live in TN, have 2 UT grads/fans in my wedding, and feel it's forced
even my UT buddies don't treat it like they do the UF game. Hell, not even like the Vandy game anymore.

You should have been around in the early 2000's. The hate is real....although a decade's worth of arse kickings have made it better.

I lived in Alabama during Auburn's dominance over Alabama. Then, as the tides changed, the Auburn fans quickly became Bama fans. I felt embarrassed for them.
Then, recently, they would cheer for each other in the Championship Game. "WAR TIDE KEEP IT IN THE STATE!"
Disgusting.
The only true rivalries these days are LSU/UF, LSU/AU, FSU/UF, FSU/Miami

Good to see all the little bros of the conference coming together. Perhaps y'all should do something about getting the game changed since this rivalry is a farce.
