Just fine with 11 wins and ranked in the top ten.

Also, technically we were both tied for second in the division. There's no such thing as a tiebreaker for anything other than first place. Lawyered.

actually lsu finished tied for second, and then finished with a better overall record. how does it feel to have to use one game to justify your entire season? no wonder y'all and ole miss have seemed to form a new rivalry, kindred spirits

Not bad with more wins and a higher ranking than Arky

I personally don't think it makes any sense to rank LSU ahead of Arkansas, but even all the computer polls I've seen have LSU ahead of Arkansas, so it's a little easier for me to accept LSU's higher ranking in the human polls.

Nonetheless, I wouldn't trade Arkansas's 10-2 regular season, capped off with a win over LSU and trip to the Sugar Bowl, for a loss to LSU and a win in the Cotton Bowl.

ANYWAYS... Can we end this stale argument and get back to the OP?

Which offense in the SEC will come closest to matching Arkansas's firepower?

Probably because the win over LSU was the highlight of Arky's season

Arky would've won that game by at least 10 if those guys were suspended for the Sugar.

No, Arky would've won that game if their so called "stellar" wide receivers didn't drop half the passes that hit their hands. And I don't mean to rain on Arky fans parade but Mallet > Wilson any day and every day.

I'm sure Alabama will once again put up 30+ PPG and 400 YPG. They've done it every year under OC Jim McElwain.

Bobby P has had great offenses before he ever knew who Mallett was.

Petrino has been grooming Wilson for 3 years now. Wilson has all the physical tools needed to succeed in Petrino's offense. Wilson isn't a redshirt freshman, he will be a redshirt Junior. He doesn't have the arm strength Mallett did, but he has better wheels and is more accurate on short-mid routes, and his arm strength is nothing to scoff at.

I know one thing for certain, our new starting QB will be better than LSU's QB who has been playing for the last three seasons.

well either way y'all have 3 losses. i would rather lsu have lost to arkansas and beat a&m in the cotton bowl than beat arkansas and lose to ohio state in the sugar, although lsu wouldn't have lost a sugar bowl. but regardless, i'd rather end a season w/ a bowl win than win a normal regular season game and lose my bowl game.

Yeah, getting beat by 3 in Death Valley is really getting romped

You would rather your team not be good enough to be invited to play in a BCS Bowl just so you can assure a victory over a weaker team? That's just sad.

You have no idea if LSU would have beaten tOSU. LSU wasn't good enough to get invited to the Sugar Bowl, yet you assure me they would have won it? Ole Miss can make the same prediction and have it mean just as much (which is nothing).

Of course you wouldn't. Beating LSU is the highlight in any year for the Pigs. Its the highest goal you set every season. Do that, and like you said, you're happy.

Arky in the mind of an LSU fan does not share the same vaunted status that LSU does in your mind. We have bigger goals in mind...and thats probably because we have a legit chance to achieve them every year.

Perhaps one day you and your fellow pigs will get to that point.

You didn't get beat by a better team. Arky choked and it's as simple as that. Your receivers couldn't catch a cold and Mallet folded under the pressure.

and who exactly created that pressure? I mean you give no credit to OSU for the victory? This is just dumb.

I think arky made it pretty clear they weren't good enough to play in their BCS bowl.

Ok? So what? Do you really get off by thinking about Arkansas fans's desire to win the last game of the regular season every year, against a team that is usually ranked in the top 25? Don't let me stop you, have at it hoss.

Like losing to Arkansas so you can get to that 11th win in a shittier bowl game?

Those "bigger goals" you speak of, well Sugar Bowl is a lot closer to those goals than the Cotton Bowl.

The only point from your ramblings is that you still have a major case of butthurt.

But I guess when you have never been there before it can happen right?
