You keep on piling up those SEC banners, buddy. Hell, if they are so important to you, Bama can lend you about 20 of theirs, make you feel all warm and fuzzy. Meanwhile, Bama will keep on stockpiling the real hardware..

Bama uses one method one year to make a title claim and uses the exact opposite method/arguement the following year in an attempt to claim both titles which is total hypocrisy.

The sugar bowl that season was #2 Bama vs #1 PSU. Bama won and was named champ. That's legit.

And LOL at you fans of shitty arse programs like LSU and AU, who don't have a pot to piss in when it comes to CFB history, trying to talk shite about the greatest CFB program of all time: ALABAMA.

In all seriousness,,,, the fact that he brought LSU back from the bottom dwellers of college football, (not just the SEC) cements him as the best modern coach in college football..

Bottom dwellers of all of college football? Uh, no.

We were still voted #1 by either the AP or UPI.

Of course a gump would be dumb enough to count 14 titles that the majority of don't mean shite; to make themselves feel impotent.

The 9 poll titles are still more than anyone else.

You asshats already are. To answer the original question, I believe a national title this year puts Saban in the top 5 coaches of all time if he's not already there. He wins 2 or more at Bama in the coming years and the GOAT debate can begin.

So we can't count the UPI? I guess you want us to the the only team to not count a UPI championship.

Therein lies a problem as well. Take a look at 1964 and 1965. Bama uses one method one year to make a title claim and uses the exact opposite method/arguement the following year in an attempt to claim both titles which is total hypocrisy.

Yes, Alabama was running the method in which the AP and UPI was awarding titles. At least research their methods before spouting off bullshite.

A few stats, starting when Coach Saban coached at LSU (2000).

LSU 2000 - 2004 (5 years)
Record 48-16
2 SEC West division titles
2 SEC championship titles
1 National Championship (BCS)

Alabama 2007 - 2011 (5 years)
Record 55-12 (50-12 with vacates)
2 SEC West division titles
1 SEC championship title
2 National Championships (BCS & AP)

So, with 10 years Saban has.....

Record 103-18
4 SEC West championships
3 SEC championships
3 BCS National Championships (LSU 2003; Bama 2009 & 2011)
2 AP National Championships (Bama 2009 & 2011)

Also bowl record of 10 straight since 2000. (LSU 3-2; Alabama 4-1; total 7-3)

Pretty damn good.

(edited for corrections of record)
