ESPN avoids the controversy by only talking about poll titles after 1935. And they do acknowledge our 14 claimed titles. Before the 2010 BCS National Championship Game they had a 12 helmet sitting in front of their desk, after the game had ended it had been replaced by a 13. Same thing happened back in January. There was a 13 helmet sitting in front of the desk, after the game it had been replaced by a 14 helmet.
