Not true.

It was a mistake, and at least in my group of friends we will admit it day and night.

FWIW, Bobby Dodd had a falling out with Bear Bryant because Bear reneged on a promise to sponsor oversigning legislation and then no-showed.

I SAW Darwin Holt throw a vicious, headhunting elbow shot to Granings face, along the Bama sideline. Remember that in those days the face bar was one or two horizontals. Numerous tv replays for all the world to see. Cheap shot, illegal hit, punk move, all fit the description. Poor reflection on Bear Bryant and Alabama, imho.

So what's your take, you fail to defend your stance by providing anything other than "i dont know what I'm talking about".

I think the point is Georgia Tech has been doing relatively well as a result of the conference they are in.

Yes, they have a more recent title than we do - which goes back to the competition they face vs what we face.

Would they be as competitive if they were in the SEC? Not likely.

Yep, and UGA has a 23 game lead on tech in our series. We are miles ahead of tech as a football program.

And I'm not trying to make a dig at you park, just reinforcing the point you've already made for the gump.

What the hell are you talking about? What's your point? What does that have to do with anything I've been talking about?

ETA: Oh, and we have a 7 game lead, not 5

my take is there's really no point in discussing it with someone who has their mind made up. ITs a pointless exercise. You didnt know anything about it, yet formulated an opinion. Nothing i say will change your mind. Keep monitoring the REC, enjoy the rest of your day, etc. etc.

Georgia only has one legit national title.

Ohio st won the AP in 1942.
There was no title in 1927, but even so, there were two undefeated teams that year while Georgia had a loss.
Notre Dame was the real AP champion in 1946.
And most laughingly, Ohio st was 10-0 AP champs in 1968. Georgia was 8-1-2, and nowhere near the best that year.

Technically it's 2, but it's hard to care about the one we claim before the toaster was invented.

How so?

Bama claims 1941 which is completley laughable. Or at least they used to..didn't a few years ago they decide that was dumb so they stopped counting that one and picked another one to count instead? Could be wrong on that but I thought I heard that.

All I'm saying is that there have been 5 times where a poll said we finished #1, so that's what I count. Although I realize that 3 of those are complete reaches.

What was it Bear Bryant said once? "If a laundromat in Tuscaloosa wants to claim us champions, we'll take it" or something like that.

His point is apparently Tech is on almost equal footing as UGA from a football standpoint, which I just can't see. You would think that a lifelong tech fan like yourself saying the opposite would hold some weight.

did you or did you not fail to know that it was a block rather than a tackle?

no. i simply recognize the futility of pointing out that his back was turned so he could not see the fair catch signal and the whistle blew as he was throwing the block, and chick slacked up as the block was being thrown because he did see the fair catch signal as holt was throwing siad block. Its pointless to argue these things with you though.

Yall do not have 5 titles. Repeat after me: "We do not have 5 titles. Tech's is more recent than ours."

Don't even talk about a split with Colorado .

By the rules, they lost to Missouri. In reality, they got an extra play. So in an era where split titles were very common, GT's claim is very legit.
