NO.

If he didn't get caught for all those violations, hell yes.. Espcially with the East kind of down at this point in time. But then again if you think about it, a lot of the players he recruited were trouble...
I'll say no.
I actually think Dooley will be doing something serious next season. Tenner could make a BCS bowl. Their only competition may be Florida next season, since Georgia is still Georgia, USCe loses Alshon and Garcia, etc..

If Chizik could win one, I don't see why Kiffin couldn't win one as well.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. If Dooley can't make anything happen in 2012, it's never going to happen.

Zook inherited a team from Steve Spurrier. Kiffin inherited a team without linemen at Tennessee.
and the excuse for the win total dropping like a stone at USC?
zook recruited well enough to make meyer's life pretty good at florida
kiffin left behind a crater at UT

Chizik has a badass staff with the best OC in the nation. Kiffin was calling plays for Tennessee, and he's no Gus Malzahn..

Nope,he brought in too many players with horrible character,oh and he's not proved shite as a coach...

The offense will be set next season. Bray, the o-line, and Rodgers and Hunter will all be very experienced.. I have no clue about the defense, though. But Auburn and Oregon both proved that you can win with a great offense.

You mean from 9 to 8 with a worse team than the previous year?

UT's issues are far more related to Fulmer than Kiffin.

If the coaches can get the linebackers to produce, Tennessee can win the SEC in 2012.

you are right regarding the win totals at USC being similar - i looked that up after i posted it. But it doesn't matter - anyone who doesn't realize there was a massive step down at USC last year wasn't watching.
Here's the thing with kiffin - he's just not that good... he's the guy who hops from job to job and things go wrong everywhere he lands... because he just isn't a leader... he's a chirper who talks and never backs it up
Certainly fulmer at the end was not nearly as successful at UT as he was when he was younger... but kiffin's career will never compare to what "fat phil" accomplished. Over time UT fans will see that... right now some are still stuck on hating phil at the end and the idea of a younger mouthy kiffin actually having game when he actually doesn't... setting aside the issue of what violations he probably committed at UT and is now pretending he never did
Southern Cal was incredibly worse in 2010 than they were in 2009... they lost at home for the first time in forever to a mediocre notre dame team, they scraped by a 4 win virginia team, a six win arizona state team, a seven win arizona team, and lost badly to a 5-7 oregon state team (score? 36-7)
The early results for kiffin at USC are in - and the results are not good. But i'm sure there will be someone he throws under the bus instead of taking the blame himself... he's just running out of places to jump to without actually accomplishing something

After the OSU game, what about the 2009 Trojans was good and how was it so much better than this past year?
Posted on 7/10/11 at 5:05 pm to gatordmb89
one of top recruiter in the business. landed #1 prospects Bryce Brown and Seantrel Henderson back to back .
but he sucked arse in coaching last year at USC. jury is still out though but I think he's a mediocre gameday coach.

I agree with everything you just said. When did people start to claim people were awesome at a job when they just came close to doing something. Reminds me of my friends who almost beat this guys arse.

o ic... you want to remove from consideration one of the best ooc wins by any team from that year?
that seems fair
even setting that aside they had several more wins against teams with 8 plus wins in 2009
2010 USC beat one BCS team with as many as seven wins for the year... and for anyone who watched them? Last year was one big wtf is wrong with them?!?!

I'm not discounting it, I'm just saying they completely fell apart by the end of the year. As soon as they knew they weren't going to win the Pac 10 they basically stopped. 2010 USC wasn't good, but the 2009 team also sucked.
Posted on 7/10/11 at 5:20 pm to ohiovol
for the year as a whole they were a lot better than the 2010 team
and the 2010 team showed no spark, no moments of greatness, no reason to think greatness is just around the corner
with pete carroll still at USC? it would be different.

The 2009 Trojans also had a better roster than the 2010 team.
Don't tell me you were watching the 2009 team and thought they were going to dominate the following year.
