With the possible exception of Tennessee/Vandy, I am not sure there is another in state rivalry that is so completely owned by one side as it is here
What's so weird about this game is that Vandy plays us to kill. I guess because it's the last game of the season but I've honestly seen the most vicious play at UT-Vandy games.
This year I'm a bit concerned with Vandy's growing confidence. But with our D being all DE and no DTs or LBs we'll play it wide open. Webb will have a career day. Like Mizzou, we just gotta outscore them because with the D being what it is we're not stopping the run. Just don't have the bodies even against Vandy.

All our rivalry applications were denied

If I were Georgia I wouldn't sweat Tech either. Tech is a better school academically while Georgia can still get thugs in with lower standards.
Ironically, that is one argument that Tech fans use. However, what they don't understand is Stanford does pretty darn good with tougher academic standards, and also...years ago, a track star by the name of Antonio McKay was denied admission to Georgia. Want to guess where he ended up? They can get kids into their school if they want them.

How weird is it as a Georgia fan having 2 primary rivalries on opposite ends of the spectrum?
You'd hate to lose to them, but I'd be willing to be a lot of Georgia folks would trade some of those Tech wins to beat Florida
Actually, we have three main rivals. Tech, Florida and Auburn.

I dont know how stupid you have to be to understand that while Stanford does have tough standards, their collegiate board had made certain degrees more friendly towards football players. They have business management degrees that dont require calculus or any science classes beyond whats required in core classes. GT has not done that to their degree programs. Its not about how hard it is to get in its what is expected of you when you do get in that GT has not lightened up academically.
So you can now go to Stanford which has just as difficult admission standards than Tech but you dont have to take the science and advanced math classes in your business management degree, so less difficult degree at Stanford, easier to focus on football and difficult to get in so still have academic prestige. Plus California weather and campus is nicer than Atlanta.
Its really not that hard. Techs struggles are beyond admissions.

Well for me personally Florida is my most hated rival.
I'm 25 years old, Tech has done literally jack shite to make me hate them the way I hate Florida.
My dad on the other hand, Tech is his most hated rival.
Just depends on how old you are I guess.
I probably would hate tech more if they won more than 1 game every 7/8 years though.

I used to not care that much about the Tech game due to the fact that UGA usually came away with a win. Then I made the mistake of going to one of their message boards and found out what a pathetic bunch those fans really are. They eat, sleep, etc. everything UGA. They have game threads on their boards and even celebrate when UGA players get hurt. When Gurley went down it was like Christmas for them. They are truly obsessed and I now get a great deal of satisfaction when that team falls on their butt as the meltdowns are epic.

What about your in state rival? Do they worry you?
I wish the game was earlier in the season, because I really feel the same way about the Auburn game as I do about any other SEC game (other than Tennessee). Having it at the end of the season, often with the SEC Championship game on the line, makes it seem like my anxiety is about the "Auburn game" instead of about the SEC championship being on the line. It would mean the same if it was the Ole Miss game, or the LSU game, or the Miss State at the end of the season and both teams had a chance to go to the championship game.
This year I get to give this game the amount of care it properly deserves: none. It means exactly what it always does, but with no threat of missing out on any post-season hopes.

What percentage of tech athletes are enrolled in Ivan Allen liberal arts school? Serious question.

How will it feel after we beat yall Saturday? Will yall call for Kirby's head?

Hows that cold sweat today?
Everything you mentioned about the money, media, government is all true. GT has no business on the same field as UGA. Yet almost every year they give yall a very good ballgame. What does that say about your program? Under achieve much? UGA should be ashamed for ever losing to GT.
Yesterdays outcome could not have happened to a nicer fan base. Now put your UGA hat that was purchased from the local Chevron back in the closet until signing day. Im predicting you will be celebrating ANOTHER top 5 recruiting class.

That's the plus of not having a rival

I always sweat rivalry week. I have never not been nervous before playing Auburn. I have a deep-seated respectful hatred for them, obviously.

I'll sweat UK/UL until the end of time.
We don't have anymore rivals in the SEC due to our lack of football cares overtime.
This is our last chance of redemption.

It always stings to lose to the bugs. Fact of the matter is that they have won 2 of the last 3 and consecutive games in Athens.
The coaching change will slow the response. However, if we dont win in convincing fashion next year at Grant's Tomb, you will see the machine crank back up to squash any sort of nerd rebellion.
As much as I hate to say so, you have to give them credit. There is no way that they should be able to stay with anyone on their schedule except Wake, Duke and the FCS schools. But year after year they hang around and wont simply fold and go away as they should.
