Is this the race card? If it is it’s pretty much expected these days. That’s all you’re type know. Fixing problems don’t fit the narrative you’re looking for.

I didn't say anything about race, you brought that up all on your own. I was just trying to flesh out your true feelings since you wanted to he so vague, and you just made that clear it has something to do with race.

Why are you so scared to say what you want to say?

He had 5 minutes. He wasn’t driving from very far. Whoever it was is going to regret giving the ring footage to his lawyer.

The civil lawsuit is going to be a bitch to defend.

He’s not guilty of anything at criminal court burden of proof but in civil courts burden of proof…he’s better off settling for half of what it would take to get him off (and it not be a sure thing).

More like it’s gonna be expensive to settle out of court. Same for the University, family is already claiming emotional distress having to watch Miller play after Tuesday. You think they want Oats and Byrne deposed?

More people that can fill Bryant Denny have been sent away for less.

Universities will always settle as long as you aren’t unreasonably high on the counter. They always have the option of just spending you into the ground and probably winning outright in the process.

They don’t already have agents and lawyers at 18yo.

So put a number on the incoming round of 32 run. I’m gonna say 2 million for UA. More like 5-8 for Miller if they let him off light. 10-15 Million if they request a strong arse offer depending on his draft placement.

So Millers privilege matters? Very interesting BTW Miller is a 20 year old Freshman.

The average high lotto pick is making 10m per year on average on their rookie contract.

Miller’s team will choose to procedurally run them into the ground and possibly end up winning too. It’s more likely he could be liable in civil courts but it isn’t assured.

Yeah it obviously does in the real world. Class privilege exists. Being useful to those with class privilege (like NBA owners) affords one access to better legal protections so you don’t get steamrolled by the state like a poor person.

The last thing his team is gonna want is a court date and to have a guy that failed 2 grades in k-12 school deposed. If he is indeed drafted top 3 the families lawyer will have to take future earnings into account. I would think 5-8Mil would be the ballpark, They might swing for the fences to start though.

Take in account the price to raise a 5 year old and his future education (ie, College)...

Anyway, Miller can count on his rookie contract to be gone, he is going to pay.

So let’s say his rookie deal is 40m. Half of that is going to taxes and 10% of it to his representation. He’s going to have about 15m or so in hits-his-bank-account take home over 4 years.

I think they offer 500k and could get up to 1m potentially. As I’ve said, I don’t think it is definitely a win for the family if it goes to court.

Frankly I bet they can get more money from the University of Alabama simply because they have pre-existing coffers for making problems go away that a young athlete simply does not.

There’s also this weird idea among the Bama fans that ONLY they know the truth and everyone else will look silly. I guess the Bama board has some secret documents in a locked thread.

It’s also getting humorous that they think this is only about Miller being guilty or not in a court of law.

nah, Family and their lawyers going to go for bank...they probably go after his endorsements (if he will have any after being associated with the capital murder)...

Miller is going to be the poorest top 5 pick in the NBA.

There’s this other weird thing from everyone else where they make up things that definitely did not happen and interject the most bad faith reading of the events that don’t hold up as soon as you realize the state didn’t prosecute.
