Where were you with this shite ten years ago when no one was watching a pathetic Mississippi team limp around to 4-8 and 3-9 seasons?

If you want to see the SEC destroy itself like the Big 12, not just 'no', but frick you.

I think only one of those games is an SEC tv contract game.

That would be the capitalist way. I have no issue with it but I think going game by game is a bit much. Why not just calculate the average for the season on each team and spread the money that way.

teams like Arkansas and Mississippi State get so much of the benefits from our superior brands while playing unwatched JUCO teams in non-conference play to boost their chances of possibly making a bowl game.

since it's game week, i'll allow it. there hasn't been enough trash thrown back and forth, imo.

Logically, Ole Miss and Bama deserve more of the pie.

Awesome post. There is a conference just to the West of us waiting to take your call.

Also Ole miss is only on there twice because they played Fsu on a Monday when literally nothing else was on tv and the other was Bama. Don't fool yourself into thinking you're important.

The tradition is a perfectly acceptable reason to keep the conference and I'm fine with it.

Could you imagine the payouts though if the 14 most watched programs all joined one conference? Damn. That'd be some serious money flowing.

It's been mentioned ad nauseam, but this is what killed the big 12. Every team in the conference is important, whether you want to believe it or not. No one wants to see Alabama scrimmage each other all season long.

the capitalist way does not work if you want to keep a conference together. our end goal is not economic darwinism. if that were the case, then great. that's what notre dame does. the point of joining and being in a conference is to benefit off of one another. the reason the sec is thriving and the big 12 is floundering is because of an unbalanced revenue share.

not really. half of college football would no longer field D1 teams if that were to happen. they couldn't afford to

So a lot of people tuned in to watch Florida State and Alabama play football? What does that have to do with Ole Miss?

I don't have a problem with TV revenue being split evenly.

Its total BS that bowl game payouts are split evenly though..

Alabama has been to nearly every major bowl game over the last 10 years and our payout has been the same as Vandy, plus we had to spend millions to go to those games.

Teams should keep a larger % of their bowl payout, not 100% and yes even teams that don't go to a bowl should get some. But it shouldn't be even.

Damn. Those 14 teams would be stacked to the ceiling with talent. 5*s three deep at every position. NFL would be better too with the increase in development from spending more time in school.

I am pretty sure that the revenue split is after taking out our expenses. So it doesnt cost us anything

-is championships not enough?
-Pressure from boosters and donors to the school not enough?
-using football to recruit bright incoming freshmen not enough?

keep the money equal. I like the thought of Vanderbilt having better athletic facilities than half of the Big 12. helps the overall competition level rise In the best damn conference in the land.

A rising tide raises all ships.

That wouldn't happen even if you put the top 14 teams per view ship in the same conference.
