Why do LSU fans always seem to be the ones to propose this particular alignment? I wonder why that might be...

You can't get more unbiased than going to a straight seeding system.

SEC East (Auto Tie Ins)
1. Auburn (Alabama, LSU)
2. Florida (LSU, Missouri)
3. Georgia (Texas A&M, Mississippi State)
4. Kentucky (Ole Miss, Texas A&M)
5. South Carolina (Arkansas, Mississipi State)
6. Tennessee (Alabama, Missouri)
7. Vanderbilt (Ole Miss, Arkansas)
SEC West (Auto Tie Ins)
1. Arkansas (Vanderbilt, South Carolina)
2. Louisiana State (Auburn, Florida)
3. Ole Miss (Vanderbilt, Kentucky)
4. Mississippi State (South Carolina, Georgia)
5. Missouri (Tennessee, Florida)
6. Alabama (Auburn, Tennessee)
7. Texas A&M (Georgia, Kentucky)
Sorry to repost what I already did two pages back... but really is the best realignment with auto tie ins.

I guess it's to painful to do a North/South division break?

You want to come in to a conference and tell people screw their rivalries.
Get real.

We don't run from our rivals just because we cant beat them over here.

I think this is a great idea because then LSU won't have to play any of those super-hard-to-beat teams anymore.

frick that realignment, not playing Auburn or Alabama every year would suck arse.
LSU fans need to deal with the schedule and win the games at hand.

You could still have a permanent rival. And it would only mess with one of those. Either Egg bowl or the Iron Bowl would split depending if you split N/S or E/w. Which would just make them permanent rivals. I also like the 10 game idea just cause I'd get my money's worth every year but it would be a bloodbath.

I forgot to mention that, in my scenario, the cross divisional games would go by seeding as well. Just to stir the pot a little more.
Posted on 1/2/15 at 9:57 pm to Goose
The east would be way too soft still.
I appreciate the tie ins but need to switch a softie from east to west in your scenario
Eta
By switching Arkansas and Vanderbilt i believe we could avoid severing real rivalries. And even the playing field.. In your theorized divisions

Moderately level headed response i applaud you.
This was in reference to leaving all Texas teams behind ... Mostly Texas

No one. If any of the games truly meant anything to anyone, us and baylor and tech and texas, we'd still be playing

So you would have no problem getting rid of your ole miss annual game?
Posted on 1/2/15 at 10:20 pm to 3rddownonthe8
Not at all. There are greater tragedies in life.
In some ways, it could make the rivalries that much more intense, because you wouldn't know when you were going to play them again.

Seems like you're trying to come up with a division consisting of LSU and 6 also-rans.

Need someone to give me some good reasons why we do not switch Missouri and Vanderbilt to the West and move Alabama and Auburn to the East. It keeps rivalry games intact (TSIO and IB) and gives a true West to East break down. Why have we not done this?
Go.
SEC - West
Arkansas
LSU
Mississippi State
Missouri
Ole Miss
Vanderbilt
Texas A&M
SEC - East
Alabama
Auburn
Florida
Georgia
Kentucky
South Carolina
Tennessee
Man I wish. Considering that A&M is our bitch and the Mississippi schools are still Mississippi schools and will only have decent years once out of every ten, LSU would have a cakewalk to the SEC Championship every year. The biggest problem we would face-----Arkansas. But when Bert has an obesity-related stroke or heart attack and is soon gone, they will no longer be a threat either.

Nice to see the delusion is still in full effect. The bowl season didn't teach you anything about humility.

Posted on 1/2/15 at 10:52 pm to Mizzou4ever
The only geographical problem is Mizzou, and I have no idea why others worry so much about it.
In all actuality, we border more East schools than we do West schools and we play the West school we border very year.
It's really not that big of a deal.
