Big 6 doesnt mean shite at this point and is a relic of the past

Wat? You really like this breakdown of divisions? Seriously?
I do. Call them the Grits Division and the Coke Division instead of East and West and there is zero reason to change anything.
It's a geographical name problem, not an alignment problem.

Yeah, that sounds like a schedule LSU fans would like every year: take Alabama and Auburn away and add Vanderbilt and Missouri.
Confess, you really want Vandy and Kentucky, instead of Vandy and Missouri.
Then your pansy arse AD can keep the 8 game conference schedule, because he's afraid to play any more real teams than needed.

Not really.

Didn't appear you wanted to split up same state schools with moving both Alabama and Auburn.
quote:I had to make that concession to keep the Iron Bowl intact within the division.
For that matter, your division doesn't give a "true West to East breakdown", since Tuscaloosa is further west than Nashville...

LSU fans will do anything to avoid getting beat by Bama every year
Posted on 1/2/15 at 8:02 pm to Wolfhound45
It would only suffer if they aren't our perm. cross division rivalry.
Personally, I miss playing UT and UF.
For me, the biggest games of the year growing up were UT, UGA, UF, and 'Bama.
It means those games are even more important to me since we don't play every year, but I hate having to wait for them.

Why are you trying to make someone else say that?? That is exactly what you are saying

A Tennessee fan calling other also rans.
you cant make this shite up.

Seems like you're trying to come up with a division consisting of LSU and 6 also-rans.
Sorry bro, tDecline is real and you can't run from it.

A non-Big 6 member hasn't won an outright SEC title in 51 years. Get rustled all you want but that's a fact.

quote:If the basis of the argument is he does not want Alabama and Auburn (which he has made before) then so be it. I am not stating anything he has not stated before. Just get the argument on the table so it can be discussed. This alignment makes no sense unless (as has been mentioned) we are planning to expand and make some changes to scheduling format.

quote:Thanks for some discussion bro. In my own mind, the weakness to having Alabama and Auburn as permanent cross division rivals is you could (possibly, likely) play in the Iron Bowl and then a week later play each other in the SECCG. That is a tough road to hoe. Brutal.

My recommended division alignment keeps your other big games (UT, UGA, UF and Bama) intact.

You need an adult argument?
In your scenario, simply swap LSU with Alabama.
Forget geography, this is only for football and everyone only has four away games a year, which mostly the teams fly to.
Now tell me how you and your fellow LSU fans would accept it.

quote:No they are not. I do this for a living. You do not always get the perfect solution. So you look for a win-win for all involved. This is the closest I could get to geographic alignment and maintaining rivalry games (the greatest argument for keeping the current alignment). Trying to add common sense to where Missouri is and keep rivalries intact. To the best of my knowledge, there is not a tremendous rivalry between Tennessee and Vanderbilt and if there is they can be permanent cross division rivals.
Your statements are contradictory.
