Legalizing a drug that's still a crime in 90% of the rest of the world is quite a liberal viewpoint.
That's so dumb I'm not even sure what to say. You think if a view is liberal or not depends on what % of the world follows it?
Not to mention your stat is complete bullshite. And maybe you should take a look at the places where it is illegal and the type of places you think have it right.
Do you also think we need to follow the rest of the world on many of their laws? I mean you do realize the population of China is like 4 times the population of the US. So I guess whatever laws they make must be the right laws?

Do you think Rosa Parks should have spent more time in jail, since she broke a rule/law? Do you think slaves who managed to escape should have been sent back to be killed since they broke the rules? People in countries like Iran/Saudi Arabia, I guess when they kill people for stupid religious reasons, it's the person who's killed that is at fault because they know the rules. And if people lived the way many of you are claiming in this thread, your shite would still belong to the queen. This country was founded by people who said frick stupid laws and rules, what matters is right and wrong. So stop being a pussy, stop blaming the people who get caught up in bad laws, and stand up for right and wrong. That's the American way...or use to be.
Depends on how important the issue is or the risk/reward. Is escaping slavery worth the risk of being sent back/killed, sure. Is smoking pot so important that it is worth missing the Olympics, i would say no. But maybe smoking pot is more important to you. I hope my children use better judgement!!!

I'm always down for a good blunt but ....
How hard is this to understand?

So just the concept of freedom in general isn't worth much to you?
I think the people who died for it probably have a different opinion.

It enhances nothing.
She broke federal law, knowingly took a prohibited substance right before the Olympic.
Her problem was believing she was above the rules. If you want pot off the prohibited lists you need to make a compelling case, have removed from the federal schedule, then take it to the US Olympic committee. She violated the rules and is being punished. It’s her own damn fault.

Shouldn't the focus be on changing the bad rule?
Why are you more worried that the person is "punished" for breaking a bad rule?

Actually i am quite the fan of freedom. I am a VFW and have done my part to defend it and literally risked my life for it. Your concept is one of poor judgement and stupidity which isn’t worth much to me….even though I fought for your right to be stupid and use poor judgement. Carry on

She has admitted all of that. She smoked as way to deal with her mother’s recent death. She acknowledges it is against the rules and those are the consequences. She will be allowed to run the relay

Wait until you realize it's not Parchment baw. Washington absolutely grew hemp, even bitched about removing the males too late one year. That changes shite for using the fibers, obviously has dramatic effects on the smoking.
Aahhhhh the first two drafts were written on hemp. The final draft was written on Parchment. Jefferson grew hemp at Monticello. Benjamin Franklin grew it as well as James Madison and Henry Clay.
Should I bring up the ones who did it while it was federally illegal. That list is quite extensive as well.

I served, not that it matters.
Moving on - you are into making everything that can be considered poor judgement illegal?
Not a fan of beer and football?
Half the shite that is fun in this world could be classified as poor judgement.
Since when did freedom mean having someone tell me how to live my life?

You must pay taxes.
You must wear a seatbelt.
You must wear a mask
You must get vaccinated
You must pay thousands for insulin
You can’t smoke weed
I’d bet he’s only okay with one of these type “laws”
Eta: thank you for your service

You’re missing the point. Last try:
Your examples of ignoring rules included escaping slavery or religious persecution, both of which risked death if caught. Dire circumstances with huge reward but dire risk if you got caught. Risk commensurate with reward. In this case, she risked going to the Olympics and a gold medal for what…getting high? The risk FAR OUTWEIGHED the reward!!! That is the poor judgement i am referring to.
