There’s 3 factors that made it possible for Alabama winning the game. Take any 1 out and they do lose.

1. Tua
2. Georgias conservative second half play calling
3. Bad officiating

Bama needed all 3 of those to win and without ALL of them they lose.

I’m not blaming Alabama because it’s not their fault and they didn’t cheat. They took advantage of the situations just like we would have.

It is funny how a playcall is conservative when it doesn't work.

Bama owned the trenches in the second half. They earned the win, not by playcalling, but by each player beating the guy in front of him.

I have no idea what janky means but I’m pretty sure you’re right.

The white line isn't even straight, there's jagged parts of it. No way can you overturn something that close.

On the mythical punt block, refs missed two or more BAMA players moving early and should have been a false start

FWIW, this is when you know you can’t bitch about the refs. “You guys shouldn’t have blocked the punt anyways because the refs also missed a false start which would have hurt bama”

So on the same play, they incorrectly called offside on Georgia AND missed a false start on bama. And yet you’re trying to convince us that bama didn’t get any help from the refs by using this play as evidence. Good lord

Come on dude. You and I both know our playcalling wasn’t as aggressive in the second half.

Actually, Herbstreit commented - after that call - how UGA had been the beneficiary of all big calls up to that point.

There weren't really any big or missed calls up to that point, but convenient story nonetheless.

Explain.

We couldn't run or pass well in the second half. The lack of a positive result end result does not equal a change in playcalling.
Kirby didn't tell Chaney to run our ineffective conservative plays. We ran the same plays that gave us 173 rushing first downs and 42 rushing TDs. But our interior OL got mauled and Bama's D was too fast for us to attack on the perimeter.

How did them missing the call in the OP's post help Alabama?

Yes I am, because the point is the refs sucked all night and missed many calls going both ways.

It's not like the refs deliberately didn't make the false start call to do BAMA a favor. They just sucked. Period. That's the point.

And that's the play UGA fans love to point to, while conveniently leaving out the play should have never happened either way. The refs sucked and blew many calls, but the calls they made or didn't make didn't cost UGA the game and they didn't hand the game to BAMA.

I don't think it was a poorly officiated game at all, on either side. The calls you can argue were missed were all pretty minor or close.

The only blatant call missed was a facemask Alabama committed on a sack in the 2nd quarter I believe. The ref had a bad angle and couldn't see it even though everyone else on the planet could.

I can think of many more off the top of my head. At least three or four of those plays have been discussed by UGA and Alabama fans for most of the day.

Most of the plays the refs missed were no calls. Like the stepping out of bounds on the sideline by the UGA receiver. The facemask you mentioned. The no false start call on the blocked punt that never happened. The BAMA receiver getting mugged on the almost interception in the back of the end zone. Najee Harris getting mugged on the 4th down TD by Calvin Ridley.

The no calls didn't truly affect the outcome of the game and that's been my point all day, but they were still missed calls and they were obvious. Jmo

The only blatant missed call

Bama had a TE mugged right in front of the ref and had to settle for a FG. And Bama had a WR get targeted in the EZ with blatant helmet to helmet contact and even though the play was reviewed to check and see if the pass was intercepted. If those plays are called correctly Bama has 1st & goal inside UGA's 5 and does not have to settle for FGs.

The call was correct. Wasn't indisputable.
