Did TAMUs move to SEC cost them a shot at BCSNC?

Would TAMU be playing in championship game if they where still in the B12. Goes to show how tough it is to go through the gauntlet that is the SEC.

Edit: Chances are they would play Bama also.

They would've run the table in the Big 12 and been playing Monday night

Yes, but we would have been killed in the natty because we were used to crappy defenses. Heisman slump

I don't think so. Honest truth.

Pretty legitimate question and hard to see how they don't

No way we get picked over an undefeated Alabama and Notre Dame assuming we would have gone undefeated

I think that if we don't move to the SEC there isn't as big a pressure to fire Sherman. So I doubt our move cost us a chance at a NC.

this, but I don't think we go undefeated. The move to the SEC was the best way to get players' heads right. Wouldn't have happened in the Big XII.

Both ND and Bama would have been undefeated..

Not so sure A&M would have been ranked above ND, especially since the Big 12-2-2+2 no longer has a conference championship game.

Even then.. A&M vs Bama with a month for Saban to prepare. Even I (as an Aggie) would have to say frick that.

It would still be Bama and ND. 3 undefeated teams but TAMU gets left out.

Also, good point by other Ags here.

Without the move to the SEC, we probably don't fire Sherman AND Sherman would not have started Manziel. He would have gone with the traditional pocket passer guy (Showers).

It's very difficult to say A&M would have run the table in the Big 12-2-2+2 with all things considered.

Yeah, I don't see a season like this happening if Bill Byrne and Mike Sherman had been left in control, and the SEC move was a big factor in making those changes.

No.

Still Bama/ND.

We were unranked and on no one's radar coming into the season. By the time we would've grabbed headlines -- and rest assured that'd take longer than it did in the SEC -- Bama and ND would've been coasting to Miami.
