How bad do you have to be to not make a bowl game?

UL Lafayette made a bowl game.

Hey, I didn't spin it. I said having NFL talent is a good thing, but what amounts to one complete side of the ball leaving EARLY? That can't be a positive. It's neutral at best.

its a positive as it shows the program is healthy and will help with recruiting.

its a negative when considering the immediate season after. so yes it will hurt for next year.

Now, that I disagree with. LSU now has OODLES of openings to offer early playing time.

I've made no comment about whether it's good or bad from a recruiting standpoint. Just pointing out that it will negatively affect the 2013 LSU team, especially from a defense and leadesrhip standpoint.

Which CAN impact recruiting in future years.

These are the real losses. The others arent really a big deal. but notice 3 DL on there (and all defensive players). also Mathieu wasnt on the team this year so i pause to even put him on here. its almost like he went pro last year really.

DT Bennie Logan, LSU
CB Tyrann Mathieu, LSU
DE Barkevious Mingo, LSU
LB Kevin Minter, LSU
DE Sam Montgomery, LSU

Meh, Wing isn't a loss, their back up Punter looked good in the bowl game.

Where it can effect a team is the signing limit in the SEC and how expected this was, becomes a numbers game with the roster, but I have no idea how many seniors LSU had on the roster this year.

Wait, so you are saying that losing guys early to the NFL is a good thing for your current team?

If this mass exodus causes more than one mediorcre years, it's a huge problem. If it causes a bump in the road and LSU is back to its normal arse-kicking self in 2014 (assuming 2013 is actually bad)...nothing to see here.

It will be interesting to watch.

We aren't going 4-8 next year. 9-3 or 10-2 most likely.
