could see LSU blowung out Bama on a given day

In 5 yrs Bama has lost a total of twelve games. average margin of defeat in those games is less than 7 points. Largest margin of defeat is 14 points (twice in past 5 years). Not an LSU flame, but I dont see any team "blowing out" Bama.

In 8 quarters & OT, Bama attempted 13 FGs and scored a TD. They were in scoring position (ie close enough to attempt a FG) 14 times. LSU was in svoring position 3 times and one of those was bc they started there in OT and another was due to an INT that put them at the 15. The LSU offense crossed midfield on their own (without aid of OT or a turnover that placed them there) only 3 times in two games combined.

No one will ever know what would be the outcome to such a game but I do think it would be a completely different game.

Hell no! Our inablity to execute any kind of passing game against Bama in the NC. Bama did not respect JJ passing ability (for good reason), they did a better job on the option, although the way it was ran was horrible, the man responsile for the QB made the tackle on the pitch man!!! A simple short passing game would have backed the Def. up.... hell, there receivers open across the middle, for whatever reason the ball was never thrown.. Leaving JJ in the whole game had a negative effect on the whole team, thats what you saw when it looked like they didnt want to be there..

when you wwin because the other team missed not one, but THREE filed goals, you're not the better team- youre the luckier team.

OHHHH so now the kicking game is based on luck?
Jesus, you people amaze me. Its a TEAM sport. You don't recruit a kicker - your team isn't as good. Just like when we have a retarded coach, we're not as good. You're acting like an entire 3rd of the game is just a huge coin flip.

11/5 - Bama's kicker chokes terribly. Bama loses. Because Bama's special teams isn't as good as LSU's on that night. Period. LSU was the better team.

1/9 - The one that counted. We didn't show up and our coach royally screwed us. Saban > Miles that night. No question. Bama was the better team.

I'm not taking anything from Bama. They deserved it because they showed up when it counted. But saying they were the better team on 11/5 is downright insulting and naive. Kickers don't get mulligans. They're team members like everyone else, and are held accountable just as everyone else is.

Clearly yall lucked the first game out. needed us to miss two field goals.

I look at it more like YOU needed a field goal kicker that didn't completely suck to win that night. And you didnt have one. So you lost.

I mean, by that argument I could say "You needed JJ to suck as a QB for you to win. It was total luck that our player didn't perform."

This is such stereotypical Bama logic. Why am I surprised?

With that gameplan and playcalling, nothing would have mattered.

We would have lost no matter what on 1/9

Had Lee gone in and thrown a pick 6, people would be wondering why he didn't keep Jefferson in

This is the answer...

But with JJ so inept and the coaches running the same play over and over again...I really can't see how it would have hurt.

Unless he threw a pick six and then people would be wondering why he didn't keep Jefferson in...this sounds like a circular argument.

I wish we would have tried to win the game on Monday. After suffering that Saints tragedy earlier, it made me realize that if we wouldn't have just handed the game over to Alabama in the first quarter and actually attempted to score, I'd be sad, but really proud of the team for giving it their all.

Instead, we embarass ourselves in all phases of the game and lose 21-0. It's just a shame, cause it could have been epic.

If LSU had rolled over and lost to UGA in the SEC Championship Game, they could have sent Bama to the Cotton Bowl while still earning a berth to the BCS Championship game.

LSU's defense played their asses off. The team spent an entire year being hit, bruised, tackled, and even on an off day, I guarantee they were trying. Unless you were out on the field, taking tackles and working hard, you have no right to use "we" and "ourselves" and talk about being embarrassed. I don't care what team you pull for.

You have every right as a fan to talk about how you are acting and feel embarrassed.

LSU never beat Bama buddy, your coach calling for long field goals when he knows the kicker can't make them =/= the other team beat you. LSU won.

I disgree with the thought that LSU was NEVER in the game on 1/9. The Defense was very much in the game for the first half. But when you are on the field 85% of a game at some point you're going to wear down and that is when the only TD of the game occured in the second half. Our D was exhausted at that point with good reason. I will give Bama's defense all the credit in the world for the game on 1/9 but your offense wasn't domination status. If they were there would have been more TDS. Our D fought hard in the redzone to keep that from happening. You want credit given where credit is due. Give LSU's D some credit because they did not lay down. They can not help the Offense never got in the game. Your kicker did get better this game. Straight up fact.. or well, he had more manageable kicking attempts. The LSU D still blocked one and he also missed one.

As far as the missed FG's on 11/5. There was a blocked one then too and the one in OT he missed is because LSU's D pushed Bama back so far it made the attempt much tougher. That had nothing to do with luck. Those two were pure LSU D. Other than that your kickers other attempts were long ones that pro players sometimes miss. Thinking there should have been points from those attempts is flawed. The Tigers D deserves credit for that win.

Looking forward to seeing Bama in Death Valley next year.
