Surrounded by her family for the special moment, Gladys Henry watched from her hospital bed on Saturday when Henry won the iconic award. Gladys Henry raised Derrick, but couldn't attend the Heisman Trophy ceremony in New York City due to health complications.

Instead, Gladys' family brought the party to her to celebrate the grandson she nicknamed "Shocka."

The party erupted when Derrick was announced winner of the 2015 Heisman Trophy. He is now Alabama's second winner of the Heisman Trophy. Mark Ingram won the prestigious award in 2009.

"It was one of the biggest moments of my life," Gladys Henry said.

And Derrick's own family member who is sick probably appreciated the joy from seeing her boy on a stage win a major award. Let people celebrate man.

I feel bad for the infirm at that hospital. May God bless them and give them much needed peace.

Not only that, they're about to start hearing cock sucking Christmas carolers making all kinds of racket all over the place.

Bah humbug.

At home already. In the cafeteria, at best.

You know how it is. Guys just come in, pay their respects to the sick relative and split. It's the womenfolk who stick around, usually forcing the kids to stay up there too, "to make Grandma feel better."

Gladys was moved to a long-term care facility last week. More than 25 family members joined her at Specialty Hospital Jacksonville to watch the Heisman Trophy ceremony.

Hospital staff moved the watch party to the facility's rehabilitation gym to accommodate the large party. Five generations of Gladys Henry's family were represented, including great-great grandchildren.

"Having all of our family here for this is so special," Gladys Jones said. "A part of [Derrick] is here with us."

Said Gladys, Derrick's grandmother: "This meant the world to me."

You mean it didn't bother any sick people at all?

Well, god damn. There goes one more legitimate reason to bitch.
