They didn't exactly have many good options at the time

You'd think they could have gotten someone better than a guy with a losing record at a mid-major also ran

I think Tennessee is hoping they found a diamond in the rough. From what he did at Tech, I wouldn't want him. And you know that means something from a LSU fan considering we have Leslie Miles.

you would have thought USC could get someone better than Kiffin

Who else was even a viable option? At least they got a guy who has recruiting contacts around the south, which UT needs to be successful. I wouldn't want him for that big of job, but they were desperate

Do you think Kiffin was USC's first choice? I assume they had trouble with looming penalties.

I don't know man...I kinda liked Kiffin. Yeah, he's a tool and a prick and what not, but he put together a great staff and recruited out of this world. In his two big games (Florida and Alabama), his team really showed up to play. I think they would have been ran out of the stadium if Fulmer was coaching.

I'd be surprised if Dooley was the first guy Hamilton offered

From what I've heard on the radio and seen on TR, you're in the minority.

I'm not judging this guy until about 3 years from now. It wouldn't be fair to considering the shitastic state this program is in right now. I realize that this wasn't UT's first choice, and how could one reason it was? It was just a matter of circumstance. It was a terrible time to lose a coach. Two weeks before signing day, not many coaches are going to jump in that fire. We'll see, but I'm blindly optimistic.

Dooley pressure washed the stadium and won 3 games last year! I thought he earned it.

Our program's in the dumpster for now anyway, it doesn't really matter. Hopefully he can at least help us re-stock the cupboard.

Even if he turns out to be a good coach, he'll take some arse kickings this year.

I would bet one million dollars that 1)Richt is not fired any time soon, and 2) on the off chance he is, (which he won't be), we will NOT hire Dooley. I can assure you of that.

But, at least he won't leave after one year on the job and go somewhere else like Lame Sniffen did.
