I was just about to bring that up.

But yeah he saved Alabama the same way I saved money by switching to Geico.

Franphoney will go down as one of the biggest losers among coaches who never built anything. He never stayed anywhere long enough to prove his worth. And then at Tamu he proved he could not build and sustain a team. Tamu got smart and fired him before he left them holding the slippery rope

Wasn't it the Arbys on McFarland that steamrolled a bunch of his bobbleheads?

I think so. They were also selling attempts at hitting those bobbleheads with a golf club.

The thing that really annoyed me about Franchione was when he called us "that school down the road". The Bear could say that, hell Saban can say that, but having it come from that nasally voiced cocksucker made me want to punch him.

The only thing I want to know from him is how he knew LSU's defense wasn't going to tackle his home boy Shaud Williams and Santonio Beard when Bama's offense ran the same play over and over and over in 2002 in Tiger Stadium. Rolltide.com

My dad and I were cussing Saban that day. Eleven guys couldn't stop the same counter play for three quarters.

Shite started in the 2nd and just kept going:

quote:

Shaud Williams rush for 26 yards to the LS20, 1ST DOWN UA (Dem.Hoofkin).
U 2-G L06 Santonio Beard rush for 6 yards to the LS0, TOUCHDOWN, clock 03:52, Kyle Robinson kick attempt failed.
U 1-10 U04 Santonio Beard rush for 12 yards to the UA16, 1ST DOWN UA (Norman
Lejeune).
U 1-10 U16 Santonio Beard rush for 19 yards to the UA35, 1ST DOWN UA (Jack
Hunt).
U 1-10 U35 Shaud Williams rush for 18 yards to the LS47, 1ST DOWN UA (Corey
Webster).
U 3-9 L46 Shaud Williams rush for 32 yards to the LS14, 1ST DOWN UA,
out-of-bounds (Jack Hunt;Randall Gay)
U 1-10 U20 Santonio Beard rush for 12 yards to the UA32 (Dorsett Buckels;Bradie James),
PENALTY UA clipping 15 yards to the UA17.
U 1-13 U17 Santonio Beard rush for 6 yards to the UA23 (Bradie James;Melvin Oliver).
U 1-10 U28 Shaud Williams rush for 9 yards to the UA37 (Jack Hunt;Randall Gay).
U 1-10 U40 Santonio Beard rush for 8 yards to the UA48 (Jack Hunt;Bradie James).
U 2-15 L41 Ray Hudson rush for 18 yards to the LS23, 1ST DOWN UA (Randall Gay).
U 2-11 U42 Santonio Beard rush for 13 yards to the LS45, 1ST DOWN UA (Jack
Hunt).
U 3-7 U33 Shaud Williams rush for 10 yards to the UA43, 1ST DOWN UA (Lionel
Turner).
U 1-10 U43 Shaud Williams rush for 9 yards to the LS48 (Bradie James;Byron Dawson).

I don't think a Saban coached LSU defense ever gave up so many long runs.

Edited to add:

Yes, this was the game that DF didn't shake Saban's hand or something after the game.

Also, don't forget that in 97 we were beating OU 51-0 in the third quarter in Norman.
