The magic portal is here to stay, so we do need some law and order to subsidize this new free agency in recruiting. 32 seems right for now.

I am sure the NCAA never suspected that teams would use the portal for their primary recruiting but many have. And just look at Michigan State from last season.

I see BAMA redefining how they do business on a much grander scale as well. Face it, these transfer guys are much more developed and proven, and guess what? They can't transfer again, so loyalty will be a premium with these guys.

I like the idea that NFL-bound kids don't count against the 7 additional recruits. Suspended kids shouldn't count. And players that are run off as well. Only players stepping into the magic portal of their own volition get replaced immediately.

The NCAA needs to be disbanded. The kind of shite they produce can only come when you have to many people in the room.

How can they possibly defend a 6th year of eligibility, and now increase the annual signing cap, without addressing the 85 scholarship max? My nephew is a Sr and a very good HS football player- just not Bama/ UGA good; just below Power 5. Know how many scholarships "just below Power 5" have to give this year? About 5 on avg because their Sr's aren't going pro. And this ruling doesn't change that.

It's safe to say your football acumen is on life support anyway.

I agree. They should’ve done that concurrently as soon as they added additional eligibility, IMO.

If the NCAA was really aiming for more parity, they'd reduce the number of scholarships, not increase them.

But as a Bama fan...keep on increasing those scholarships!

5 of those might need to be used. Can't find 7 new ones due to chip shortage.

so dumb. should be doing the opposite and lowering to 20 and lowering overall count to 70. Need more parity for the game to survuve. NFL learned that yet CFB is going opposite way
