Defensive players who flop to slow tempo — ever seen a flag thrown?

Is it an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty?
Don’t know how to stop such antics but if a player who flopped had to sit out the rest of that series (let’s say to protect them to make sure they’re really ok), probably wouldn’t see it happen as much.
Bring it up bc I thought some of those Clemson fellas were taking liberties there.

Honestly thought all I juries last night were legit. Our Notre Dame and Tamu games, not so much, especially when they signal for you to go down from the sidelines. Should either be a delay of game or unsportsmanlike .

I made this comment during our game with Notre Dame. When a flop is completely obvious, the player should either get an unsportsmanlike call or have to sit out an entire quarter or play.

Modern offenses are very hard to stop today. It feels like the defense is one step behind. I don't like flops, but I understand why they do it.

If you are talking about the Clemson DT who went down last night, that was a trashy boo by LSU fans.
He was our best DL... do you think our coaches were going to have him just fall down if he wasn't injured?
Edit: And I didn't see any type of injury that looked faked by either squad.

IN an age where player safety is stressed, I don't see this ever being a penalty.

Rest of the series...or maybe 5 minutes off the clock before returning. Something needs to be done about it.

So he was cramping 5 minutes into the game in an indoor stadium in January with world class nutrition and hydration guidance at his disposal? Shut the frick up, your team is trashy for flopping to slow down our offense

Flops trying to draw penalties should for sure be reviewed and flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct.
But the injury part would be hard to police. They have to fall to the ground to stop the clock. If a guy has a minor tweak to his knee or a pain or something, you can't run off the field because there is no time. Even if it's just a hurt arm, you have to fall to the ground to stop the clock and allow the substitution.
So I don't think you'll see a flag for "fake" injuries in the future. But players who flop trying to draw flags for the other team absolutely should get flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct.

Just make “injured” players sit until the end of the quarter.
