2 losses to top 10 teams in OT.
Yeah, they suck. It's insane how faggy some motherfrickers are on the Rant.

It goes so far beyond the Ws and Ls though. We're still winning most of the games, but the team is completely out of control: undisciplined, unprepared, unmotivated. That's where the concern is
nick could control the dodge chargers.
NIL is an entirely different monster he has to "publicly praise" while probably internally hating it.

Saban's never horrible. I'd still take a 70+ year old Saban from now until he retires but this year hasn't been a great one for him.

Excellent post. Only thing I’d add is that the world is changing around Saban, hence more difficulty controlling players who are now professionals - mercenaries. He can’t (and no one can) replicate Saban’s run since 2009. There is now much more parity with free agency (portal) in college football. Saban is doing as well as anyone can.

Well said, and I agree completely. Saban is the GOAT until he isn't and I don't think I will see the day when he isn't.

Yes and of course I’m not talking about this year or even the fact that he probably won’t be able to ever dominate again like he did in that stretch. But it’s such an insane bar he’s set. He could go out and win two more titles in the next seven years and people would be saying he’s lost a step because he didn’t win four. It doesn’t help that it appears that UGA is becoming Alabama East and Tennessee and LSU appear to be rising into powers again.

This was a loaded Bama team and expected to win. Saban has shite the bed. He’s old and slipping. Nick Bowden incoming!

Kids are really difficult to motivate right now and the old ways just aren’t working right now

Also it’s not really bama that has gotten worse but that everyone else is catching up

I don’t know how much longer he’s going to be on the sidelines, but this is some ridiculous nonsense about how horrible he’s done this year. And the run is over etc etc. Two excruciating road losses does not mean the sky is falling. It’s just dumb. It also shows what an insane bar he has set there where he has had only three seasons since 2008(!) with two or more regular season losses.
That means 12 out of the last 15 seasons with one or zero regular season losses in the SEC, not the Big 12 or ACC.
Just stop the nonsense. He is 183-21 since 2008 with 6 titles. Come talk to me when Alabama has gone 8-4 for the next 5 years.
The only thing wrong with Saban is held onto shite coordinators for too long. He chose coaching continuity over quality and it backfired on him after years of constantly replacing coordinators. I believe he'll fix that mistake after this season.

This isn't why people think he's starting to slip. It's how they look. There are three things I've seen from them this year that have raised eyebrows:
1. They're average on the lines of scrimmage. Kicking everyone's arse on the line of scrimmage was a staple of Saban teams forever. They don't do that anymore.
2. Penalties, missed tackles, and general sloppiness. Saban's best teams had legendary discipline and never beat themselves. The penalty numbers over the last few years have been staggering.
3. The trash talking. 10 years ago, Will Anderson would have never made that stupid arse audacity comment because he knows he would have been running stadium steps until his tongue was dragging on the ground.
It looks like Bama has gotten to the point where they just assume they're going to win.
It was never like that before. They knew they had to work hard and prepare for each opponent, which usually resulted in them dominating.
Maybe Saban is starting to slip.

Saban is slipping but he is still better than 90% of active coaches. If Bama doesn’t want him anymore others will. UGA would hire him as an assistant to Kirby. We would pay him enough that he wouldn’t have to make those silly commercials where he talks to a duck too

Dude is still the best coach in college football. Hands down
Posted on 11/7/22 at 3:29 pm to TutHillTiger
Nope. Bama has gotten worse. GrandPaw Nick is 71. Time catches up with all of us

He used to be. Not anymore.

He also lucked out that Les Miles is stubborn as shite and would never do ANYTHING to adapt to the current environment. LSU and Georgia were the only two programs who could have kept him in check during that stretch, but both Miles and Richt simply refused to adapt to the modern game. We both consistently had great offensive talent but we couldn’t get out of our own way.
