I just like how you guys can't decide between DeBoer being an underperforming bum that should stay at 'Bama forever, or a coach that's so good he's being courted by Penn State, Michigan, and any HC gig that becomes available.

You people need to make up your mind on whether he sucks or whether every major program wants to hire him.
You contradict yourselves every other post.

I think Bama has more lore than Michigan, but I also think Michigan would appreciate excellence more.
Bama fans only care about championships.

5 losing seasons in a row for The Fighting Shug's of Wire Road.
You might wish to tend to your own knitting. That should keep you busy it appears.

You talking to yourself bro? This is exactly the sentiment as to why I think he would leave for a place outside the SEC that is considered a top 10 job.

In all seriousness the only real way this is legit is if Michigan is prepared to pony up (possible) and DeBoer just thinks the scenario at Alabama isn't going to end well for him.
Honestly, it's a good off ramp. That's not a slight to Alabama, but whoever was going to follow Saban was almost certainly going to have a rough expectation road and it's hard to imagine a better scenario than bailing after a playoff berth to go to another elite program.
I highly doubt this will happen, but if he is very invested in not having a "fired by Alabama" line on his resume and Alabama is not particularly interested in a major bidding war for him, maybe?

This is my logic. And for the record it’s only theory, but intuition says not many top end coaches left in this cycle and a top money program is gonna look hard to hire a top notch coach

They don’t want to admit it, but they know the relationship is fragile.

I think he stays there for a while.
I thought he was a poor hire at first but he's not as bad as our last fired coach for sure.

Another domino could be the Notre Dame job. This thing is just heating up.

Guaranteed 9 wins a year, just as much financial support, less crazy fanbase…. and good coaching gets you to 10 or 11 wins on average.
You better hope not, because Lane will burn you to the ground to get that Bama job.

Why would they fire Marcus Freeman?

Maybe. I’m here for the ride. Lane is unpredictable….for the moment he is ours.
