He meant that the Champion didn't play Alabama at any time that year. In Saban's 17 years at Bama the only team to win the title without playing Bama during the year is 2013 FSU.

UGA didn't play Bama in 2022 (their last national championship).

They played them twice in 2021 (SECCG and NCG).

It's a stupid statement. The last team to win a national championship without playing Bama from the SEC is literally the last national championship winner from the SEC.

what was the score of the 1957 ucla usc game? Because that has as much relevance to the discussion as your quesitn.

Guy said no national champ in 11 years has won without playing bama. UGA, the 2022 national champ, did not in fact play bama.

It's ok to admit a mistake every now and then without it having to turn into a backpatting party for yourselves.

What was the score of the Bama/Georgia game a month before that in the SECCG?

UGA played bama in the SECC in 2021. UGA played LSU in the SECC in 2022.

UGA didn't play Bama in the 2022 season.

We played LSU in the 2022 SECCG and OSU/TCU in the playoff games on the way to a national title.

You're not getting the point of the post. UGA didn't play Bama at all in the last national championship season for ANY SEC team.

The one before that, UGA played Bama twice. Lost in the SECCG and won in the one that mattered, the National championship. But that wasn't UGA's last championship. Bama fans seem to have forgotten that.

It's not all about you.

Which is funny considering every time Texas fans remind you of their multitude of national titles over the past few years, it’s always responded to with “iN wHaT sPoRtS??”

We know it’s not football. The Big 12 has never won a natty in the playoff era, and the iPhone didn’t exist the last time Texas won it.

The 2022 natty was Bama/UGA genius. Bama played them in 2021 a month before in the SECCG.

The last three times they’ve met were December ‘23, January ‘22, and December ‘21.

I agree they did not play in the 2022 regular season, making 2022 UGA the only team to not have to play Bama to win the NCG.

Congrats, you missed the point entirely

I know all of that. It’s ironic that the TEXAS poster said something about football championships which was immediately met by butthurt sec fans because they want to be recognized for their women’s track championships.

Yet when Texas does the same thing for other sports they’re ridiculed

I think the SEC is just soft in general

Yeah. We’re so soft. Go back to the powerful Big 12

Tele about it. If only Texas could’ve played all 12 games in Tuscaloosa last year. They would’ve finished undefeated!

people like that are just incredibly annoying. I guess accoridng to him all those "1980!" memes people used to say about UGA were wrong since technically we won it on January 1st, 1981.

Yeah, good for Texas. Too bad Washington came along and ruined that season. I wonder where their coach went.

I think he went to the place so scared of Texas after they beat them so bad their best coach ever had to retire because of it

Yeah, Saban was 2-1 against Texas while at Bama, but I’m sure he’s just terrified.

Oops. My bad. Two times the champ didn't play Bama during the Saban years.

Well… yea. It’s amazing what happens when you can’t take cheap shots at the QB
