Kirby vs Mullen is a tough one, I'll go with Kirby for now just because he's proven it but it wouldn't surprise me to see Mullen surpass him.

Jimbo vs Saban/Dabo - Saban

Why was his highest class ever signed on a transition year to a team that just experienced a losing season with only 19 commitments?

Refute that.

Sorry your school is trash, baw.

What was his class ranking in comparison to most recent classes at Florida? And this was with the new coach excitement that came with Mullen. He tried to poach several recruits that he was recruiting to State and failed with many of them. Had a QB flip on him. Lost some head-to-head battles.

You're drawing straws at random. Grasping for them, in fact.

As far as trash schools, my trash school is gonna kick the shite out of Mullen and his celebrated recruiting class on September 29. Come on by the tailgate and have a beer afterwards.

I don’t think anyone would mistake me as a Mullen pumper. However Mullen’s class last year had a better star per player rating than any of Macs classes, and Corral left because Mullen wanted Emory. The point is he has to do even more than he did last year to keep pace with Kirby. Also bragging about how good the team Mullen left you is, isn’t really helping your he’s terrible at recruiting case. How did all those good players get to State?

I was asking about his recruiting ranking relative to previous classes. I didn't know the answer. I'm aware of some head to head signing day losses.

As far as the situation State is in now, it isn't from top 5 recruiting classes. This is a year where everything falls perfectly from a personnel standpoint (so many returning players), and State has historically been a developmental program - something Mullen and staff has done very well....recruit and sign unheralded players, redshirt them and put them in the system, and develop them into SEC players. I give Mullen credit for being able to do that. He could do that at State because folks were patient while they developed. That approach will not work at Florida.

Agree completely the way he did it at State won’t work here. We are hoping since he was smart enough to develop a plan to win at State, he’s smart enough to figure out what he needs to do to win at Florida. Who knows if he can but we have no idea that he can’t.

Dude you diffently sound a bit butt hurt that Mullen left yall and I don't blame you. He is the best coach yall have ever had. He is literally responsible for bringing State out of the trash can. I mean to think he isn't going to do well at Florida is just lying to yourself. It's a lot easier to win at a blue blood school like Florida.

Amazing how much sour grapes there's been since Mullen left MSU.

Damn less then a year ago most State fans said Mullen was the best coach in the SEC not named Saban and would never leave . Now most fans says he wasn’t that good and that he is a lazy recruiter. I if he can recruit and coach up QBs like he has in the SEC then recruiting will get a lot easier.

Mullen plays in a weaker division but he has a tougher recruiting area. I think Mullen has better chance to live up to expectations because I don’t think his are nearly as high as Fisher.

Mullen isn’t a bad coach. He did a very fine job at State. But his record was never elite and his scheduling was embarrassing. I think he beat 1 10+ win p5 team in his entire stint at MSU. Mullen is highly thought of because he exceeded very low expectations. I don’t love the hire for UF, but I think they could have done much much worse (see UT).

Edit:
Here is the list of Mullen top wins (before last season)

11 win teams, Mullen beat?
...

How about 10?
Middle Tenn State - 2009
Bowling Green - 2013
Rice - 2013

And 9?
#20 Ole Miss - 2009
Southern Miss - 2015
La Tech - 2015

It's mostly because the guys on our roster are soft and have been taught to play soft for their entire college careers.

I dont agree. UF will have to deal with FSU (if they can get it together under Taggert) and a resurgent Miami.

I didn't think he would leave and was saying that here, but that was because that is what he was telling everybody. We found out later that he was shopping himself before the egg bowl, which explains why we played like shite that day, and why we've probably looked terrible in previous egg bowls. Blinders were removed at that time.

There's no hatred for the guy...he did a good job at State, but he really didn't do anything special here. If you were asked to name a signature win, I'm not sure he has one. Maybe Auburn in 2014. He's best known for choking in big games and shopping himself at the end of every season at State.

Even during the best of times, State fans were frustrated with his recruiting efforts. That was his achilles heel at State, and he's not going to magically get better by changing addresses, especially when he took many of the same suspects with him to Gainesville.

Most State fans feel like Moorhead is a significant upgrade. He has been so far, from a recruiting standpoint, from a communication standpoint, and from a transparency/ownership standpoint. We will see if it translates to the field but there's a lot to be optimistic about. There is no Mullen melt, but a lot of us are looking forward to his return visit to Starkville - mainly the players he looked in the eye and lied to a week before he left.

I just hope poor Meghan can do her grocery shopping in peace.

Jimbo can recruit and has left FSU with a stocked talent pool. No one in the ACC outside of Clemson is close, neither is UF. From a talent stand point UF is way behind their top 2 rivals. Both FSU and UGA rank in the top 5 in avg recruiting rankings the past 4 years. The last 4 recruiting classes for UF were 18, 9, 14 and 23. Mcgee (UGA rb coach) will out recruit the entire UF staff by himself and I'm not exaggerating. For FSU Taggart has to win and he'll have the most talented team in more than 90 percent of the games, if that happens Mullen will be gone in 4 years.
