Mullen does seem to not give a shite anymore. I don't know if he does or not, but it certainly looks like he doesn't
Exactly, you don't have to be a body language expert to take notice.

I love our fanbase, but certain things they say is based on nothing more than what they read...
quote:
Mullen has lost his passion and intensity. Coaching our school requires that and more for us to be able to recruit
We recruit well enough to win at this point. That's proven by Pinkle. With a healthy QB, USCe would have lost. I'm not saying that better recruits would not have an effect, but it can be done with what we have now.
I do think Hudspeth could take our team next year and win8-10 games with what we have now.

While I think y'all's obsession with Hudspeth is annoying as frick
Almost as annoying as y'alls obsession with Freeze?

you do have a point here, Taxman.
What State needs is a guy like Hud whose ties to the school will ensure that he works hard.

No it can't.
Name a position where you'd put Mississippi State's players in the top half of the SEC. Now defend that.

Well, to be fair, our program is trending upward in a way that it hasn't in several decades, whereas all Mullen did was beat teams at their weakest point and talk shite about Ole Miss to keep y'all jizzing in your goddamn britches over beating TSUN.

That's a good point, but what we're saying is this current team could compete better.. The second half of almost every game this year has been lukewarm.
We shouldn't be going to the wire with BG and Kinfricky and gift wrapping wins for Auburn in the 4th with the depth we have. They come out flat. We need somebody to do Joe Dimaggio speeches goddamnit..

I just gotta ask this to all the state fans: What are your honest goals for the football program?
Is it to be competitive in the Egg Bowl every year?
To win the West?
Consistently be Bowl eligible?
Win a National Championship?
Depending on what your answer is, is the answer of whether or not to keep Dan Mullen.

on second thought - We need someone who looks normal and does Joe Dimaggio type speeches..

Or someone like Hudspeth who looks like he was chiseled from marble by Zeus himself.

Our goal is to win national champions and run your football program into the ground.

Why would we have to? That's point one.
Point 2 is simply answered by one word Mizzou.
They have never recruited better than MSU.

You're arguing that the talent is there. I'm asking you to back that statement up.

On an aggregate, no, but you can look at individual position groups and make a case for them being some of the SEC's best.
They have good defensive linemen, good wide receivers, and in James Franklin they have one of the SEC's most talented quarterbacks when he's healthy.
You can't say the same for state.

Our DL and LBs are pretty good. Dak will end up being a top 3-5 SEC QB within the next year or so...we have talent at RB, return most of the oline...there are pieces to work with.
