The caller was definitely a dumbass, but Dabo saying “expectations exceeding appreciation” just screams “stop criticizing us.” Otherwise Dabo was correct in his response. I will say that Dabo is lucky to be in a contract like he is. Successful CEO of large companies are fired for much less after a string of success, it just takes one bad year (or less) to be fired.

Go back and count how many times he said Alabama? Almost sounded like he was lobbying for the Bama job once Saban is gone.

I guarantee this was all scripted. Dabo has done rants before, all based off of scripted questions, to take the pressure off of losing and trying to fire up the players. Dabo is as fake as they come.

Honestly, I thought it seemed scripted because the caller got way more latitude before being cut off than I’d expect from a partisan operation.

I hate Clemson and Dabo with purple passion, but I didn't see where he said anything that was inappropriate. However, it is fun to see Clemson be lampooned and Dumbo being spotlighted in a negative way.

Couldn’t happen to a better coach. He is no different than Ed Orgeron that had his version of Joe Burrow for 5 seasons in Deshaun Watson and Trevor Lawrence.

It was all a fake set-up. Dabo has done this in the past BUT if it was real would you want a coach so thin skinned that he flips it with his ego on a fans question...

I had not thought of this until you mentioned it. I did think it was strange to let someone ramble on for a few minutes without shutting them down. A possibility for sure.

Why would the host allow a fan to torch the HC like that without cutting the call short?
Dabo is fake enough to pull some shite like this to try to keep the heat off him for such a crappy season.

I see no problem with what he said. I think he went overboard trying to gaff a mackerel, but he wasn't wrong in what he said. He's basically saying "yes, we're having a shitty season, so fire me and replace me with who?" I think that should be a conversation between him and the board and not on public broadcast, but he didn't say anything that was wrong. I think there's about 85 college FBS coaches that would like to say the same thing to their fanbases, but Dabo actually has two NC champ rings so let him say it. I'm on Dabo's side on this, and I assure you I am not a Clemson fan.
