As a proud Kent State Alum, let me just say that Florida shouldnt hang their head about losing to Kent State. Kent State is essentially everything Ohio State baseball should be. Its widely known in Ohio who the best baseball program is. You didnt lose to a fluke team!!! Making the College World Series is nothing to be ashamed of. Congrats to Florida on a fine season! Im sure that theyll be back with all of those freshman in the lineup.

You are wrong....UF should hang their heads on this one....they have had arguably the most talented team in the country for the last 3 years....surely for the last 2....they have no titles to show for it.
They should hang their heads....I'm not sure they field another team like this without Fontana, Johnson, Tucker, Zunino, pitching core, etc.
I'm not saying this to be disrespectful but I think any UF fan would tell you they expected more.

Great season Gators. All the clowns on this site that were making fun of UK for losing to them in 21 innings and the regional final must feel quite smart.

Typical Ohioan?....I went to Kent State, then i joined the Army and then went to Ohio State!! I root for Cleveland pro sports teams as well... Find me a banner that has all of those in it and ill switch my logo to that! DAM!!!

As you shouldnt, i sometimes dont think people understand how funny of a game baeball is. Its tough people. Its a game of failure! Calling Florida a failure just because they lost to Kent is absurd. Is the SEC becoming so win or nothing that you cant even appreciate a CWS accomplishment?

Not for me. First of all, it's baseball. Anything can happen. Hot pitchers, hot batters, cold pitchers, cold batters...anything.
We had a great opportunity to win but anyone that watched us all year should have been concerned about our inability to string hits together and lack of small ball capability.
We went through several patches this year where we just didn't perform well. It happened again.
Football in 2009 was the beginning of the end for Urban. Lots of reasons why that was a waste of a year.

First of all congrat's to Kent State!
As much as it sucks to 2 and Q, it is worse to not make it to Omaha at all. I am looking forward to new blood on the team and hopefully Sully will learn from this as well.
We will still finish 1st or 2nd in the Capital One Cup. So all in all, a great sports year!
