I remember when that was our philosophy for coaching hires.

Seems pretty meh to me. Especially bringing someone in who isn’t well regarded for development when your oline is terrible. Hey, at least he’ll get some recruits though

Harsin is so far over his head.

He might be a good X and O guy, but he's going to whiff on all the program elements to achieve success.

Only good thing for Auburn is Bobo is an elite recruiter and will more than likely bring one of the best QBs in 2022 with him in Gunner Stockton.

Yea the Bobo thing seems fine. He's a solid OC who is probably dumped on a little more than is fair. Bobo/Mason is a pretty solid combo, IMHO.

The Friend thing, I mean I get it because he's Bobo's guy, but his work at Georgia and Tennessee was pretty bleh. That Tennessee group this year was as underwhelming as I can remember in a while for their talent level.

I like you Leto II, but come on. These are incredibly underwhelming hires. There is nothing that screams off the page about innovation and chemistry.

This is going to be a bad future for Auburn and it's best to let it set in now.

Will Friends efforts to assemble one of the worst OL rosters in UGAs entire history was legendary but not in a good way.

Kirby’s entire opening press conference when he was hired may as well have been a scathing review of Friends unit.

Let’s be real, it wouldn’t matter if AU hired belichick, the rant would hate it.

Unfortunately it still is for some of our fans. I’m glad Harsin is looking outside the Auburn tree

Not remotely comparable or relevant to my point that Harsin is making up for his lack of southern pedigree. In fact you make my case for me. Dooley and Dye were sons of the south and could relate in living rooms in Macon, Columbia, Gainesville and Evergreen. That’s EXACTLY who and what Harsin is hiring because he is none of those things. Which was exactly my point.

Tennessee fans are good at recognizing coaching whiffs. I might as well start looking for a new team to pull for

I’ll ask you then...You are Bryan Harsin. Who do you hire as OC/DC? That’s an honest question.

TBH I like both the hires. I like Mason more than Bobo. I don’t know enough about Friend to say.

Look at some of the guys we’ve had on-staff. If we could win 8 games with guys like Kodi Burns we will be ok with these guys.

You think Harsin will be the guy to break away from the whims of the old guard?

Easier said than done, but it seems like every SEC team needs to do this at some point (like our friends at UT).

I don't understand how anyone could dump on the Mason hire.

It depends on if he wins games. Tuberville bucked the trend for a while. Win and they will stay at arms length

TBH, I have no idea. I don't have the resources to know that answer. But if you raised my salary I could give you a better answer.
