Give it up. He ain't the best in the SEC.
Of course, your only argument is he has the most TD passes.
Unless your boy makes one helluva comeback, then you better duck. Crompton started off 9-11, I think, now look at him.
I'll give you he is the "most-improved player" in the SEC, probably the nation, but he ain't the best in the SEC and outside of TD passes you can't prove he is.
Edit: UCLA is a creampuff and how did he do?

Agreed, definitely the most improved player...probably in the nation. But that isn't so much of an indicator of how GOOD he currently is but how HORRIFICALLY bad he was before. Every single fan in this conference wanted to know just how bad the backup QB had to be if Crompton was starting.
I'll limit this to McElroy, Crompton, Mallett, Tebow, and Garcia. These are probably regarded as the top half of the QBs in the conference. Here are the in conference passing stats for these six guys. I know that everyone plays a slightly different schedule, but this is a LOT better than comparing OOC schedules.
McElroy 94/167 for 1074 yards with 7 TDs and 3 INTs
Crompton 84/183 for 1069 yards with 9 TDs and 4 INTs
Tebow 89/134 for 1105 yards with 6 TDs and 2 INTs
Garcia 140/273 for 1919 yards with 10 TDs and 5 INTs
Mallett 104/199 for 1649 yards with 10 TDs and 2 INTs

jdevers,
I like Mallet, but homedirt really was pretty bad in his 3 "big" games this year. Mallet will be a pro QB, Tebow will end up a pro TE or FB, but I still take Tebow as the best in the SEC. Mallet 2nd.
This is a down year overall for SEC QB's imo. Not too good overall.

Did you watch those games? Mallett was off against Bama without a doubt, the receivers dropped quite a few but a lot of the incompletions were bad passes too. He did fine against Florida, better than any QB to face them this year I think. He actually had a good game against Ole Miss if you figure in the completely crap game the receivers had. They were officially credited with EIGHT drops in that game and there were two more that really should have been caught as well. That would have substantially improved his stats.
My point in posting that though wasn't to push Mallett, but instead to simply post the SEC only stats of those QBs as someone earlier had asked for.
