It's because Les Miles is a bad football coach and an excellent recruiter.
In the college game, talent gets you ten wins, coaching gets you twelve, and leadership gets you fourteen. See Les Miles' tenure in Baton Rouge for an example.

If we had gone up tempo the defense just looks that much worse, how is it this hard for your pea brain to understand? This is why teams like A&M will never have a good defense.
We had a ball control offense and the defense still managed to give up 435+ yard sin half our SEC games including 2 performance of giving up about 40 points.

I love how everyone wants to jump on Saban if he loses a game or doesn't just blow people out because of the talent we have. Yet Les gets a pass for having all that talent and underachieving.

Les gets 100x this crap than Saban gets. It's almost like Bama never even got embarrassed by Trevor Knight last season at this point.

No matter how much you want them to be called "shitty," the 2013 LSU defense was an above-average defense. Spin it as much as you'd like, but the numbers don't lie, you stupid frick.

It must really suck to have nothing positive to say about your own team. The last time I remember Ark being part of any relevant football conversation...LSU proceeded to stomp your sorry asses 41-17. That was 3 years ago and you've sucked ever since. Get used to the "spoiler" role because you will never be a contender. It starts with recruiting and I don't see many Top 100 kids knocking down your doors. That's how it's been for decades and I don't see it changing any time soon.

Except it wasnt in games where it gave up a ton of yards or games where it gave up 41 and 38 points. Do you not understand average statistics doesnt win or lose you individual football games?
What's better a team that gives up 40, 40, 0 and 0 or a team that gives up 20, 20, 20 and 20?
Both average out to 20ppg

LSU may rely on raw talent to mask coaching deficiencies, but we do not, we have actual coaches who other schools covet.
That is the difference between all you top 100 kids failing to score a single point while giving up 17 to the oppositions in game.
The last time I remember LSU being part of any relevant football conversation, they went on to lose 21-0 in the game that mattered, that was 3 years ago and they have been mediocre ever since.

Its funny that these commentators forget that defense is a part of football, too. LSU's defense took a major step back in 2013, mostly due to the loss of MLB Kevin Minter and because we were forced to play two true freshmen at CB (they came on later in the year).

You're missing the point it doesnt matter in the games we lost because they were shite in the games we lost.
Averages dont matter for shite when you give up well above that and lose the game.
