Trash is starting a relief donation 3 weeks after the disaster and only in response to being triggered. Where was this kindness 3 weeks ago? Why now?

Do #FreeDevinWhite billboards seem ignorant and misguided to you?

If so, this is the place for you! Donate your money more intelligently, strategically, and sympathetically.

While LSU fans waste their money on meaningless billboards based on a conspiracy theory between The University Of Alabama and the Southeastern Conference offices in Birmingham, we are starting this campaign to raise money for hurricane relief efforts for victims of Hurricane Michael, which devastated parts of the Eastern United States in early October.

This hurricane has not received anywhere near the amount of media coverage it should’ve and these people still need help! It caused damage in excess of $8.1 billion.

Stop giving money to meaningless conspiracy theories and give it to people who need your help!

If we raise more than $2,000 we will even rent a billboard in Baton Rouge encouraging donations to these relief efforts (with a Roll Tide on it if course). If we do not reach at least $2,000 by Friday, November 2nd, any and all proceeds will be donated directly to the American Red Cross.

(The campaign we will be donating to is "Hurricane Michael: Disaster Relief and Donations" by American Red Cross)

Have a blessed day and Roll Tide!

Why does it attack an irrelevant gofundme? And why the red cross? They are a terrible organization.

I want to donate, but to be clear, am I donating to hurricane relief or to a billboard? It seems unclear.

They will put up one billboard if they reach 2000. The rest is going to the Red Cross. I also agree the red Cross is a bad choice, but at least the idea may get people to help and donate in other ways.

Yea, after reading it again, I see it's the excess.

Happy to give a little to this cause (a counter billboard would be hilarious), but after spending time down there and pulling out drywall with my own hands, I'll donate to local causes. Red Cross is a no go for me after reading about it.

Wait, it asks for donations for hurricane relief, but if they happen to reach 2k by the day BEFORE the LSU game, they'll magically waste the 2k on a billboard in Baton Rouge asking for additional donations? Starting from $0?

Makes perfect sense.

This whole thing is dumb. Raising money for a billboard to ask for money? Hell no

Seems like it would clearly make more sense to raise money directly for a charity rather than raise money for a billboard telling people to do just that. This leads me to believe that this billboard’s purpose heavily leans away from philanthropy and towards a response to LSU billboards. But by all means, use billboards to tell the home of the Cajun Navy to give $ to hurricane relief.

This is the most misguided shite I've ever seen.

And Gumps are going to eat it up thinking they'll get better publicity.

Remember when you used to pretend to be a trainer on the LSU staff? Good times.

You're right. Billboards bought for silly conspiracy is a much better use of money than the Red Cross.

Come on. I know we jumped the gun on laughing at the billboard thing, but it seemed to bring people together. I'm all for swallowing the pride if it means getting money to the panhandle. I hope the organizer reconsiders the Red Cross, though. I think we can come up with a better distributor.
