What a knee-jerk reaction by Mark May...one good game from UGA and A&M and all of the sudden they're the two best teams in the country...smh

Well, we certainly LOOKED like two of the best. now, how we look the rest of the way could be a different story. But, I am glad we started skrong.

Congrats to LSU for beating a very good Wisconsin team! The Second Half comeback was very impressive.

Why degrade LSU's win? They played a better team than Alabama and looked better. (IMO) Both Alabama AND LSU will have good years this year.

Holy overreaction, mark may. A&M will still lose 3 games this year at least. And Georgia will find a way to get upset just like they always do.

Maybe. But we didn't last year against LSU, did we?

But both these games are essential to establishing that OUR teams are better than THEIRS, and we need that if we want to get into the playoffs

Excellent point and absolutely correct.

I agree completely, plus who knows how good Clemson is, they lost a ton last year. Not a knock on UGA, I think they roll through the east, lets at least play 3 or 4 games to see what they really have.

While true, you have to start somewhere. For the information at hand this is what he came up with. Week 6 will look drastically different I would think. This is all a starting point, not an ending point.

I thought Wisconsin had the game won at 24-7.

Coming back from a deficit like that is very impressive. Especially with all their inexerience on offense.

The wins last night, along with AU beating K St. in a few weeks, will help the SEC argument for getting 2 teams in.

Yes. we have to get past our own personal likes and dislikes for other SEC teams if we want to get two teams in the playoffs.

you have 5 conferences plus Notre Dame, all trying to get one of 4 playoff spots.

The SEC champ will be competing with the champs from the other conferences for one of those spots.

If LSU loses to a Big 10 team, and/or Alabama loses to a Big 12 team, the SEC takes a hit.

If you are looking at a 1 loss Auburn team vs a 1 loss Michigan St team, it's more important FOR AUBURN that LSU beat Wisconsin, than for A&M to blow out South Carolina. Why? Odds are, there will be blowouts in every conference, but you only get so many head-to-head conference matchups.

Make sense?

Perfect sense and understood it the first time around.

I enjoyed the LSu comeback and the Bama win, but I have to wonder why Wisconsin and WVA offenses stopped doing what was working for them. The Badgers started throwing the ball (something they obviously can't do) and left their stud running back on the sidelines. WVA slowed the pace and started throwing laterally and trying to run the ball at the middle of the defense. They had been ripping our corners apart earlier. I think poor coaching on the opponents part helped Bama and LSU.
