Being completely honest here:
Steven Pearl winning the NIT is probably his best resume item. Not because the NIT is important, but because this team never seemed particularly mature, and getting them to focus enough to win this tournament that nobody really pays attention to was really surprising, honestly. The competition isn't great, but a lot of teams probably cared more than us, and plenty of them were very competent (relatively) basketball teams without the varying personality issues we've had from this bunch.

Congratulations! How many southern schools have won the NIT? I remember South Carolina winning a couple, Vandy, and Southern Miss winning one years ago.
