Laid the foundation and recruited many of the players on Bama's roster. Glad to see him getting credit for it.

Mike Shula couldn't win 7 games with this team.

That's not the point. It's who recruited them right? Les won 12 with "Saban's" recruits but didn't get credit for it.

It's a disgrace how Bama fans treat Mike Shula. All he did was give his best as a player and coach and they trash him every chance they get.

Mike Shula is a fine human being and a really shitty football coach. When Miles gets canned in 2 years, Shula will be available for LSU.

Shula doesn't deserve the credit for recruiting at Alabama - Alabama's tradition is responsible for players wanting to play there. That's why Saban was able to ressurect the Tide so quickly. Kids want to play for Alabama - all they need is a leader. Everthing else is already in place.

I liked Shula as a person but not so much as a coach. He was a good person and did the best he could. Seems he wanted to be more of a friend to the players than a coach first. BTW have u seen the other rant......don't have too much room to talk.

I guess by this philosophy, No one really wants to play for LSU. But somehow Saban should get credit for some of our past seasons?

This is why everyone hates Alabama. Arrogance and entitlement beyond belief.

I thought he was a decent coach actually, just not the guy to take Bama to the next level.

Just for the record, he didn't recruit Rashad Johnson, he walked on, or Julio Jones,Terrance cody, Rolondo McClain, Donte Hightower, Marquis Maze, or Burton Scott. Remove those players from this team and the outcome this year is very different.

USC is in a state that offers more sports entertainment - college and professional sports than any place on earth. It's pretty easy to fade away there. In Alabama college football is all there is - it never fades away.

What about the two NFL draft picks (including top 5 pick Smith) that you rush for 200 yards a game behind? You can play this game all day.

another smart corn dog.
how come for the previous 50 years before saban you guys were never any good? i think the tradtion down there had no influence on lsu getting kids when saban was there.

Andre Smith would have come to BAMA if Mickey Mouse would have been the coach. He is a lifelong BAMA fan.

I really don't care who is behind our wins. I like Mike Shula very much. However he had 1 winning season in 4 years. It was a great 10-2 year however 1 winning season in 4 isn't good enough almost anywhere.
He recruited very well, especially on the O-line. He left some giant gaps on defense which Saban has filled.
Shula is a good guy and most Bama fans are proud to be associated with him. Mike Shula is not a big time college coach. Saban is an elite coach. Very few people believe that Shula would have an undefeated season right now based on his performace.

You Out-Of-Staters Don't understand the Deal In Alabama.
If an Alabama coach Does'nt beat Auburn and vice versa every so often...They can them. Shula lost 4 in a row to the Barn.
