i didn't realize the media played the title games. maybe if everyone else didn't lose 1 or 2 games we wouldn't be there. We play the games we're told to play.

The thing that's so perplexing is LSU's head-to-head "struggles" in the series with AR. The past 11 meetings, LSU is just one game over .500 in this series(6-5). Which is just "shocking",especially during a period where LSU is seeing the most success in program history; I just don't get it.

its not so much over looking AR as its just a big rivalry game...michigan can sucks arse every year but i'll guaran-fricking-tee they are up for OSU every year.
same with arky and lsu. and when you have either jarrett lee or mcfadden playing in the game the last 4 years...anything can happen.

I think it's just because talent-wise we really never SHOULD beat them. That could really go for baseball, too. I never expect to beat LSU but you can guarantee they almost always expect to beat us.
And I just take this thread as a compliment, really. I appreciate that you feel us worthy of trash talk.

well, a series that is that "tight" and explaining it away due to one team "overlooking" the other,etc. is akin to lightening striking the exact same place repeatedly...
The series is close because it's not only a rivalry, but the two teams square off against each other pretty evenly matched year in and year out. The talent gap is not that wide.
The SEC series with LSU (10-7) is much more competitive than our SWC series was with Texas, due in part to the population bases and demographics being closer between LA and AR.

Losing to the number 2 team without your best player is fairly humiliating I suppose. But it would probably come off better from a team like Ole Miss or Florida who had a winning record in the conference.
We humiliated the SEC. You were humiliated by the SEC (3-5 record). Sounds like a good year for everyone.
