How do you think this affects Arkansas' chances? I feel like the drop off from KD to Dennis Johnson is rather substantial and more than Arkansas fans would like to admit

That sucks. Hopefully it's incorrect. If it is, hope he heals and recovers fully from it. The guy is a talented back and has a bright future.

I'm not sure really, but like somebody pointed out earlier, Petrino lost Michael Bush early in the season and went 11-1 and won the Orange Bowl.

From a poster on TD: From inside the BAC....they are still evaluating him...hope is that it is just a bad ankle sprain.
So any talk of compound fracture, broken fibula, or anything crazy, do not give it much thought.
As of now, they are still evaluating him. There is some swelling and as everyone knows, it is hard to give a final call until that goes down.
It is not his knee, it is his lower ankle/foot.
I will post here when I know something else.

what is TD?
could this possibly be credible??!!!

Hawgeye is credible, he also knows Knile personally.
You're famous!!
The news still makes me

This has been discussed. Dennis Johnson was the starter and suffered a season ending injury paving the way for Knile. Now we have Dennis back and Knile has gone down. Dennis is a solid running back, but the jury is still out on Ronnie Wingo. He looked good this spring but who knows with him.

You would be suprised.
Petrino had Michael Bush when he broke his leg and went to the Sugar Bowl.
4 different RB's combined for over 2000 yards that season.
We'll be fine.

You can go ahead and guess, and it has been broken twice before.

Don't they have to wait for swelling to subside before they can do any kid of major surgery?
Not necessarily. It depends entirely upon the injury. If it were a compound fracture, especially one that had bone protruding through skin, it would warrant immediate surgery. A torn muscle, ligament, tendon, or less serious broken bone, would probably wait until the morning.

With all these reports coming out, do you have a source who you actually trust that has said anything?

Well, you sure are an optimistic bunch, and I like it

Oh it's defintiely substantial from an individual standpoint. DJ can't take the amount of carries that Knile took every single game. We will have to rotate more between him and Wingo and give Wingo more actual running plays when they have been grooming him as a receiving threat more and more.
It also means we can't redshirt Walker now.

I'm just not sold on this. I had Arkansas winning the West before this, mainly because I thought Knile was the best RB in the SEC, without him, I see Arkansas as a 9-3ish team

It could also depend on if the injury was causing a blood flow problem.

Not necessarily optimistic.
Like many of us have said. DJ will be fine, but it's Wingo that we're all worried about. Time for a kid whose 6'3 230 with a sub 4.4 40 to start showing what he was supposed to be coming out of high school.

i think the loss would be really big, mostly for the intangibles. it's hard to replace the experience and confidence, and he's been the leader of the team.

One player isn't going to make a team 3 losses worse, unless it's a star QB.

I'd trust mine with my life.
Ive also been texting him about going on a fishing trip before the season starts over the last hour. He is no longer on campus.
When he left, Knile was still being evaluated.
