Of the four teams remaining in the CFP, only one won its conference. Ole Miss finished fourth in the SEC, Oregon finished third in the Big Ten, and Miami finished third in the ACC.

With 12 teams now, it actually hurts to play in one and lose

So far in the 12 team playoff era the sec, acc and big 12 champions have never made the final 4. Only Indiana has made it as a big ten champion. However much we all thought the expanded playoffs would hurt the regular season, its actually much worse.

Go to a 4-Team Conference Playoff (takes place of the conference championship) and the winners of each Conference play in 4-Team Playoff:

2025 P4 Conference Playoff:

ACC
Georgia Tech at Virginia
Miami at Duke

B1G
Michigan at Indiana
Oregon at Ohio State

Big 12
Houston at Texas Tech
Utah at BYU

SEC
Ole Miss at Alabama
Texas A&M at Georgia
