Question for ut fans...is Pruitt changing QBs this weekend?
Posted on 10/2/19 at 12:25 am to BFANLC
I think JG will start but I wouldn’t rule out seeing someone else

Thanks, not a Ut fan but hope Pruitt gets it turned around at least a little bit :)

I think we are not as bad as our record shows (if QB played even almost as well as last year we’d have 3 wins but somehow he’s gotten so damn bad)
But at the same time we are 1-3 and that is bad. I hope we find some success towards the back half of the schedule or we will once again be between Scylla and Charybdis

Personally, I think the JG experiment is over. Mauer had some shaky plays but he added a spark against our defense when we played.
Sometimes you just gotta try everything, and to me this seems like the time to do it.

From what I've seen, it's like he has almost regressed. I dont know what's going on behind the scenes (does he have a new qb coach or oc, etc) but he is making freshman throws and freshman mistakes. If you guys had a even a decent qb I think you're at least at 500 right now or better. Getting a quality qb and quality ol has to be Pruitt's main focus recruiting wise going forward.

Exactly. Basically we have Harrison Bailey QB committed and if he goes then the class goes. He is an elite prospect. If we lose him, we are done for. So to me, if we win 2 games or 6 games, the only thing that matters is if we lock him down for next year.

VOLS lose this one by 40+ in all likelihood.
And lmao at VOLS fans acting like Bailey is some super star QB prospect. Not even a top 100 prospect and fans are acting like this kid is more important than hiring a non retard as the head coach.
VOLS wont be competing for anything in the next couple years even if Tom Brady is the QB.

Who are we gonna hire? What would you have us do? I know you gave up already but I don’t think firing him is the best idea at the moment

I would like to see the program shut down for a few years. Save us some embarrassment and start it up again Ga State style in 2025 or so.
Keeping Jeremy Pruitt as the HC over the next few years will do nothing but diminish our all time win percentage.

You cant keep firing people. That's definitely not the way to help your team.

Damn. Concerned with Tennessee. LOL! That's some psychotic babble. There are no circumstances where UT has a chance. The most talented roster in America vs the SEC's east's least. These two play a hundred and UGA wins a hundred. Kirby's wife could coach the team and it wouldn't make a difference.

That may be the best idea I’ve heard but obviously we can’t just shut it down. Give me a realistic option

At this point I'd start looking for up and comer coaches who have unorthodox concepts for their offenses. There are tons of coordinators who deserve second looks at.
Maybe even look up guys with gimmick offenses. Leach probably won't leave (I'd still make him a huge offer), but Jeff Monken wouldn't be a bad guy to take a chance with. If he can have back to back 10+ seasons at fricking Army, the dude just might know what he's doing.
And I'm sure you guys could entice him enough to come and try his philosophy at a P5 school.

Lol why would he leave West Point to come coach a bunch of mouthbreathers that hate football and hate authority even more
Posted on 10/2/19 at 1:51 am to StrawsDrawnAtRandom
No no no no no no. Up and comers don’t win here. They don’t win the SEC.
Leach wouldn’t do well in the sec either. Would be fun for 2-3 seasons and then back to the beginning
No up and comers
Stoops or urban is who we really need. We won’t hire one of them though

Pruitt is your only hope. Since he can and will recruit. You simply don't have the experienced talent to compete at this time. New England's coach couldn't help your situation at this stage. You will improve next year then some more in 2 years. Reality is you will never have as many players as Georgia as long as Smart is there and the Dogs lead America throwing money at recruiting. Just what did you expect this year?

I mean, we're being down to Earth and reasonable.
Who is going to want to come coach at Tennessee right now? Sometimes, up and comers are just the ticket.
Look what Mullen did at Mississippi State, and look at what happened the moment he left.
It's a risk but the risk, to me, is the only way I see Tennessee getting the frick out of this hole.

I mean, I can't argue with anyone who thinks Army is a better place to coach than Tennessee. Even if you may be right.

If we are going to hire an up and comer I’d rather just stick with what we have. At least we know for sure this guy knows what it takes to win in the SEC (he’s been with elite SEC programs before). We tried up and comers with Dooley and butch and just no
