Mel Tucker is neck and neck with Jimbo in hilariously overpaid coaches... probably ahead of Jimbo actually since Fisher actually did win a NC at one point.

Tucker went 5-7 at Colorado. At Michigan State, he went 2-5 in year 1. This year he's 2-3 with double digit losses to Washington, Minnesota, and Maryland and the hardest games still left on the schedule. Colorado didn't screw themselves over, they saved themselves a ton of money. Michigan State's the one that will be eating a big buyout in 2023 if not sooner.

So then Tucker would have been bad at Colorado in year two so he didn’t screw them over by leaving after a year. Or he could have improved them in year two in which they should have paid the man.

Colorado is their own worst enemy. We legal weed they should be #1 on recruiting yearly.

So does Harsin go to Atlanta or Boulder?

Why not Alabama to get him back on his feet when he gets therapy from Nick Saban?

Harsin has been such a disaster he is probably untouchable at the power 5 level, but Colorado would actually be a great fit for him (for the same reasons AU and Alan Greene were fools for hiring him at a place like AU).

Little to no legitimate talent in Colorado. They're in a tough spot competing for west coast athletes that all come from weed-legal states. And yeah their administration generally doesn't give a shite either way, and would probably shut their programs down if they could get away with it.

Ironically they likely end up back in the Big 12 eventually, which gets them playing 2 or 3 games per year vs. Texas teams, which may rejuvenate their recruiting.

Except for the Big Three Schools ... Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State ... recruiting is regional. That's been the Mark Stoops cheat code at Kentucky. Getting Rust Belt kids to come a little bit south to get into the SEC.

Look at the rosters. Look at 'Bama. They recruit nationally as well as anybody. Yet, still, 3/4 of the names are from AL, LA, MS, TX, GA, and FLA.

Colorado has ... nothing to recruit from. That part of the country makes less football players than Kentucky. No way you can win there. Just not going to happen.

Sucks for the fans. But it is what it is.

For the third time in five years, the CU Buffs are on the hunt for a new football coach

CU said it will owe Dorrell approximately $8.7 million. The buyout would’ve dropped $7.4 million if the university had waited until after Dec. 31 to make a move.

Go woke, go broke fits CU. They ran McCartney off because he dared to believe in God and family. Stoned and stupid is no way to go through life but yet here we are.

Honestly, it just depends. Colorado would be a better fit for him (since he already knows the region, etc.), but Georgia Tech and the ACC would be a better fit for him in relation to his overall career.

Is hiring a black coach considered being woke or am I missing something here?

Look at Nebraska after they stopped playing Oklahoma (and generally one or two Texas teams) every year. The talent level just is not there in state. Arkansas at least borders rich recruiting grounds.

Colorado... not so much.

Only for university presidents who think it wins them some woke points. I couldn't care less what color if they win...but in no reality was Mel Tucker worth $9.5 million a year based on his resume.

They didn’t pay him that for woke points they paid him that because we were sniffing around, based on Saban’s recommendation btw , and $90-$100 mill was our budget.

Mel said match this and I’ll stay and they did because Dan Gilbert panicked and though last year was going to be Mel Tucker going forward.

Yes. And I'll tell you right now, having worked that part of the country. I don't know why any young kid would waste his time from West Nebraska or Colorado knocking heads for a football coach.

Have you been there ? It's beautiful country. And wide open. If you're a young kid, and can work those farms ? Why go to college ? Its like being on vacation every day.

Its the thing that, honestly, I struggle with. The kids playing the game, sometimes, don't care as much as the old bastards watching. And when you grow up on the Great Plains ? Why care at all. You're on the frigging Great Plains. You live on a John Ford set.

I don’t know about anyone else, but when I was in college the last thing I wanted to do was go work on a farm

In all seriousness, I really doubt ASU or CU would be interested in Harsin. It will be tough for him to get a P5 job.
