In a sport where people make the most simplistic and ridiculous analysis based on "statistics", this ratio may possibly be the dumbest.

Not to mention that contracts aren't one year deals

Also, proof Harbaugh is overpaid. Any coach with that salary is overpaid.

Damn Saban needs a raise. Most of the bottom 7 are on the hot seat . I bet Muschamp was on the other side of that list at UF and will work his way to the middle of the list at USC.

If you look at this Dan Mullen is overpaid and is terrible at his job for the salary he makes.
Ignore that he lost all his best players and was clearly in a rebuilding year this year, one in which his team will finish the year 4-2 over their last 6 if they win their bowl and 6-7 overall in a division in which they are less talented than everyone they play. And that he is being mentioned as a target by NFL teams for jobs, and that he is 60-42 and 29-35 at Mississippi State over 8 years, an 8 year period in which the SEC West has been the best it has ever been and the best in football.
Yep.

He should be required to coach in a ski mask

Except for the fact that he took over a program that was averaging 2 wins a season and led them to 7, 8, 9, 10 wins in his first 4 years. So, yea they had a bad year this year, but that is only a bad year because of the expectations built off of the wins he accumulated in the previous 4 years.
So is he really overpaid?

VA's coach is stealing money.
1.6 million per win
1.6 million per win

How in the world does Notre Dame only pay their coach $1.625m per year?
UConn, UCF, Memphis, and Navy all pay better

This tells me that talent>>> coaching

He is a 1st year coach who took over a program that went 35-62 over the last 8 seasons and 11-25 the last 3.

He makes more than Dabo, Dantonio, Petrino, Patterson, Peterson, and many more good coaches who've done more for longer. He's definitely overpaid.
It just doesn't look as bad, because Sumlin, Butch, Bielema, and Malzhan are all overpaid as well.

Well, that's what the market is for a head coach in the SEC. If you are going to hire a current successful P5 coach or your current P5 coach just took you to your first Sugar Bowl in 30 years you are going to have to pay him accordingly. It's the market rate.

I would wholeheartedly disagree with this. The market is vastly inflated because these ADs think that higher salaries beget higher success rates.
Then they get played by the coaches' agents. There is no reason Bielema should be making $4m. You don't have a protect a coach from getting poached when he's 6-6 every year.
Miles, Richt those guys earned $4m salaries. Sumlin, Malzahn, Freeze, McElwain, Mullen, Butch, Bert, Kirby, etc. were gifted those salaries by ADs who had more money than sense
And can we dispense with the "OM went to the Sugar Bowl!". It was the Sugar Bowl in name only. In years prior it would have been the cotton bowl, again. The same place Nutt got them, the same place Cutcliffe got them.

Harbaugh has taken them from purgatory to playoff contenders in just 2 years. Hes easily worth it to UM imo

Why don't you get that it is a cycle that can't be broken. They all have to overpay because the others do as well
