You got downvoted for this, and being the rant it's no telling whether you're trolling or not, but I'm gonna assume the latter in order to say this:

You are exactly damn right.

You can always tell the folks who've not yet had life kick their arse (be it a fault of their own or not is irrelevant), and/or haven't achieved something remarkable: they've no empathy to understand summiting the peak against all odds and the emotion that comes with it, and the way it changes you as a man to be genuine with others. Coach O is many things, but disingenuous is not one of them.

I also like O because the man is a vestige in NCAAFB coaches: He is the quintessential football coach that I and many others played for in high schools and community colleges. Those coaches still exist, but just like the towns and schools and teams where they coach, they are forgotten about by most, but certainly not all. The man is a player's coach and his recruiting is proof of it.

I've gotta soft spot for the underdog- for the man who was down for the count and who nobody believed would or could get up- and Coach O is (Was?) that man: The man has battled terrible decisions in his early life that lead to even more serious battles with addiction and job loss, ephemeral tenures at top programs (and garbage ones too), almost losing his wife and fighting that battle, and more recently, had nobody except his family, a very few outliers in the fanbase and his locker room believing in him.

I for one am glad to let the man shed a tear of joy, because "Most men lead lives of quiet desperation and die with their song still inside them."

And as of yesterday evening, that type of man is NOT gonna be Ed O, and yet it is also, probably, why the man was so emotional- despite winning a little ol' football game.

All of life is about context: Look at underdog O's, and you'll see why the man is emotional about winning the hand when he himself and life itself stacked the deck of cards against him.

Cheers to Coach O; the passionate son of a bitch just may have done it! Now he's gotta go out and put the last nail in the coffin of the naysayers and bring home the meat and potatoes for the fam that is depending on him.
