Weird how CNN would include 3 SEC teams, but leave off the SEC's all-time leader in major violations, years on probation, years banned from bowls, games banned from TV, and of course the employer of one Cam Newton for a semester.

And LSU turned themselves in to get the trivial probation they are now on. The coach involved was fired and the player never played one down of LSU football. And LSU was commended by the NCAA for their demonstration of adminstrative control.

The worse part was a big article came out by a major sourse, I forget who, and it was mentioned that Vanderbilt and LSU were the only two SEC schools not to have a major in 25 years. Then about a month later, boom. Oh well.

Gotcha. Well, it was a good bowl win for sure. Me, I'm looking forward to seeing how Zach pans out and hopefully catching UGA this year in conference championships. I think there is a pretty good shot at this.

Well, it is nice to be misquoted... My actual quote said MOST not ALL. ------------ My Original quote:I think most rational people would know that Alabama has one of the dirtiest programs the last 20 years, While Auburn football has been clean. We learned our lesson with ER. -------------- I think the CNN article helps validate that statement... Irrational people and those with skin in the game may not see it that way. ------------------------ You said EVERYONE knows Auburn is dirty... Can you back up that statement? Of course not, can you spell hypocrite?

A wise man once told me never to argue with a NtY'er: they will drag you down to their level of incompetence, and then beat you with experience. Oh well, I had to respond.

I can tell you feel backed into a corner by your turn towards semantics. I used the word 'everyone' to illustrate the absurdity of your vague claim where 'most' people think Bama is dirty while those same people thinking Auburn is clean. Obviously it is not 'everyone' that feels that way, my statement was a response to your absurd claim.

Allow me to simplify this issue for you. Consider the two statements:

A) Alabama has had more than its share of embarrassing run-ins with the NCAA and, fair or not, a significant portion of college footballl fans would assert it is currently a dirty program.

B) Auburn has had more than its share of embarrassing run-ins with the NCAA and, fair or not, a significant portion of college footballl fans would assert it is currently a dirty program.

I consider both of these statements to be truths. I think all the Bama fans on this thread would agree Statement A is correct. I am positive you have a hard time accepting Statement B. Why is that? Are you asking for proof that 'everyone' thinks Auburn is dirty or just that 'most' or 'a significant amount' of the national media thinks Auburn is dirty? If the latter I just ask you to be honest with yourself, you've eseen all the headlines the last year and a half or so, not to mention the rantards' posts on here.

.....
You misquoted me, simple as that.. Your babbling does not change that... Your Bammer Logic does not change that. You tried to spin what I said, by changing what I said.

Again, go back to the Original quote from a different thread that you brought up here. You are clearly Aubsessed with me.

My Original quote:I think most rational people would know that Alabama has one of the dirtiest programs the last 20 years (True STATEMENT), While Auburn football has been clean.(ALSO A TRUE STATEMENT)

Well you and I do have one thing in common --------
Neither of us attended Alabama.....

I did not misquote you. I included your damn exact quote in my original post. But lets move on. Below I have highlighted the part where we can't seem to get on the same page, and excluded everything else:

"most rational people" + "the last 20 years" + "Auburn football has been clean."

I wholheartedly disagree with your assertion that most people think AU is clean, based on the headlines we have all been seeing attached to Auburn the last couple of years. I think most rational people would agree with that and the fact that you are being an atagonistic and naive goon.

Did anyone mention Au's head coach being caught in a lie on the National News show 60 Minutes? Where he said he didn't pay players?

I'm pretty sure, he's the only actual Head coach and Athletic Director in the SEC to have been caught paying/arranging benefits to players and been fired for such.

No. It's pretty much fact Pat Dye went on 60 minutes denying Au players got paid or benefits. It's pretty much fact, Eric Ramsey provided tapes that had Pat Dye directing him which coach to go to to get an arranged loan with a bank. He was subsequently fired and was HC and AD at the time.

Dye responded to the charges by bitterly attacking both Ramsey and Ramsey's wife, Twilitta, while refusing to discuss the allegations themselves. But on Sunday, Dye admitted his coaches may have some explaining to do. While he told The New York Times, "I've never given the kid anything, I've never promised him anything," Dye conceded that the tapes might indeed be genuine and that he may not have been properly vigilant. "If the tapes are true, and the allegations are true," he said, "then what I'm guilty of is doing a damn poor job of management." Most surprising was Dye's suggestion that he might resign as athletic director if his assistants were found guilty of NCAA violations.

quote:

The tone of Dye's remarks had changed abruptly, but with the publication of the second transcript there was little point in his hoping that the tapes might turn out to be inaudible or simply fraudulent. Hollis, who has covered Auburn since 1979, says, "Before we heard the first batch, we had two questions: First, are the tapes authentic? And second, are they open to different interpretations? Both of those questions were resolved to our satisfaction pretty quickly. I listened hard. I don't think there's any question that the tapes are authentic."

quote:

On a lawn 10 miles from campus a mock graveyard has appeared with a lone headstone bearing the inscription RIP—ERIC RAMSEY AND THE MONTGOMERY ADVERTISER. On Saturday the words RAMSEY MUST DIE were seen scrawled in white shoe polish on a car parked at Jordan-Hare Stadium.

Antonio Langham signing with an agent seems petty compared to what has transpired the past few years.
