Imagine losing to those guys then begging their backup quarterback to come be your starter.
Imagine Max telling his brother not to come within 100 miles of that dumpster fire and both coming to A&M.

Imagine hiring someone who runs his arse all over recruits.

What is LSU gonna do when their freshman QB goes down in week 1 with pink eye because their coach can’t keep his dirty chili ring to himself

The most experienced QB on your roster hurt himself walking in flip flops.

Sucks for the kid, he really looked good.
I hope he bounces back in 2022.

Their class is pretty unreal tho, it’s clueless to not realize that it is a pretty brag worthy class. That being said they are still Faggies and they’ll have to actually win something before anyone takes them seriously. It’s more about the Jimmie’s and joes than Xs and Os at this level imo and they just took a step in the right direction.
How many top recruits tend to live up to their rankings though? Obviously a lot of them do, but a lot still flame out and don't live up to their HS accolades.
This is especially true when the coach isn't exactly known for developing talent, especially when it comes to the most important positions for success in the SEC.
Let's say that 60% of aTm's top class turns out to be SEC-quality starters, which is still being pretty generous. Now you have to put that up against all their transfers and starters lost to the NFL, and also realize that these are freshmen that'll take a couple years to develop into SEC quality players (IF they do).
Best case scenario, this class makes a difference by the 2023 season. That leaves next year for the team to fall apart and half transfer out like this season when they have a record like 9-3 or 8-4.
Obviously a #1 recruiting class should be celebrated, but it doesn't come close to guaranteeing any sort of tangible success. Something tells me this class will be a source of more disappointment and agony for the Aggies, compared to a source of tangible success.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but it's much easier to see everyone making fun of aggie posters in a few years because of "muh #1 class" that didn't pan out, than it is to see aTm actually doing anything notable with that class.
I just don't have confidence in Jimbo to do anything with that talent, aside from an unexpected big win here and there. He has to prove it first, and so far he's shown what he can't accomplish when he has all the talent, support, and resources a coach could ever want.

Nothing in life is a guarantee.
But there is a direct correlation between a high recruiting ranking and CFP berths and national championships. Not saying A&M will win a natty but their chances get better with a #1 class.

No program has won a national championship without signing at least one top 10 recruiting class in the four years leading up to and including their appearance in the national championship game
