Someone needs to tell Vandy that it isn't March yet.

13 point loss at home to a Horizon league team that lost a 1st round pick last year. Doesn't exactly scream top 10.

I'm a bit concerned about the Oakland game tomorrow...

We play Oakland on the road this year, so I'll certainly be watching your game.

If the boys come out flat in the 1st half like against N FL, could be a long day, but I see them putting in work. Or at least hope so.

Yeah we will need to look like we know what we're doing offensively and play with the same defensive intensity to beat Oakland.

We need to get out and run more.

I'm hoping all the half court offense we have seen in the first two games was a product of the coaching staff wanting to work on it some during games. It still isn't pretty. Better than last year, but still not very pretty.

Cleveland State is a good program FWIW.

Tough loss, but it's not egregious.

No it's not. The fact that they beat the pre season 7th ranked team is a joke.

Yep. We are a very good team on the break. Hopefully we'll be able to press a good portion of the game. Their PG is supposedly awesome and they have a sharp shooter as well.

The Vikings are legit... Vandy is overrated, but you are putting way too much stock into joke preseason rankings.

I thought this quote from KSR was pretty hilarious

quote:

You know, if you’re a basketball program with no appreciable history, and you’re ranked in some preseason top fives, and people have spent an inordinate amount of time slurping you because your experience supposedly makes you a challenger for a conference title against one of the most talented teams in the country, you probably want to get the year started with a few wins. [<--Longest sentence ever]. Vanderbilt apparently didn’t get that memo, as Kevin Malone Stallings’ crew just finished taking a 71-58 beating, at home, from perennial powerhouse Cleveland State.
