While Clemson is fattening up on cupcakes, SC has a slate of hard teams on their schedule. The will be battle tested by the end of the year. They get Clemson in their house to.finish the year.

Shock the world, SC. Shock the world...

That's all well and good, but how long will Clemson thrive off the under dog role if they keep winning?

Oh..We have that reliable sports media to help us out and they will never fail us...Clemson is a good "feel good" story for the short term but they would much rather have the old traditional powers such as Michigan, Texas, Notre Dame, Southern Cal, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Penn State and THE SEC as the dominate teams...You will see the media turn on Clemson for escaping the UNC game and have Alabama on a pedestal so high that they will have to look up in order to look down and that is great for us.

For my part, I always knew that our stay at #1 would be short-lived, even if we were to go undefeated. I was elated to see our team anointed the best in preseason, if only because it was a first in program history. But i knew we would be demoted in the polls as soon as we failed to blow out an ACC opponent.
Fortunately, in the grand scheme the rankings don't matter at this point. Just got to fix our problems & keep on winning.

FIFY.

It’s your attitude I hate.

It speaks of a sense of entitlement larger than Trevor Lawrence’s nose.

Clemson needs to keep having close games in a weak conference. Then they'll drop one spot in the polls here, another there, and soon enough, they'll be on the outside looking in...

Clemson's never started the season as #1 and I'm not sure they've handled it well. The program has aways like the underdog role and this will be a better place for them for a while.

Well Dabo better figure out a way to. Clemson has 2 national championships in the last 3 years. You have a target on your back.

Fortunately for Clemson, they don't have to play teams the caliber of LSU or Auburn. Alabama's tough schedule starts soon enough. We will see if their lack of depth on defense will hurt them. Georgia and LSU are the only 2 teams with top 10 victories. I expect Florida to have 2 losses by the time they play us with Auburn and LSU up next. Clemson, Alabama and Ohio State will be suspect until they play a real ranked team.

No, Lonnie, that’s the OLD way of thinking. “Clemson can’t compete against the big boys because they don’t face stiff competition week in and week out” is so 2015. Today we say the SEC squads are tired, beat up, and worn out and Clemson is fresh at year end because they haven’t played anybody. Get with the times.

It's cool that yall have sort of hate-adopted us as an SEC member in the Rant. I guess we should take it as a compliment.

Who knows how this team will end up... they have some fixable things (offense) and some non-fixable things (average run D due to lack of studs at DT).

Yall can hate on us all you want... it won't take away the sweet taste of 2 national championships.

Yeah but you guys should be beating every ACC team by 21+ every week. You don't even have real adversaries like Miami and Florida St should be. They are struggling against the shitty ACC teams. For UNC, this was a win for them.

And Bama should (and usually does) beat every SEC team by 21+ points every week, but it doesn't always work out that way. Sometimes 18-22 year olds have bad days or the team has a bad day. You just gotta hope they learn from it and show up and perform better the next time. And they have a history of doing that at Clemson

They do this shite every year. Dabo playing the long con so they can be the underdog.

Remember they lost to Pitt and won a natty. Almost lost to Syracuse and won a natty. They look like shite right now of course but I've seen this song and dance before.

The only difference is Lawrence is not looking like an elite QB. We'll see.
